9/11 2011

Recommended Posts

Hey guys there has been a lot of talk about next year Anniversary of 9/11/ 2011 about how it will be celebrated. We are a big club and was wondering if we can do something also. We did lose a member to the war and maybe do a fund raising event where we all meet up. Then drive to NYC or to another location and do the fund raiser and donate half the money to are fallen member and to another 9/11 fund group or to are soldiers.

It's would be a nice of us and show that we care not only of are cars but this country !! I have been trying to get my foot back into the government work force Home land security They are bringing home are soldiers but the war is not over as you can read of the recent bomb run. One more good disaster and this will bring us to are knee's other country's hate us because we live free and do just about what we want to do. I may be a broken man but will be there for the fight if they bring it to us again. The more support we show the more angry are enemy's get !!

Just a thought and if anyone know's how set up this benefit up please feel free to step up. The only planning that. I know of is taking out the trash. :salute:

I'll go first Anthony.

First: Great idea.

Second: You will NEVER get close to ground zero on the ten year anniv! I can promise you!

Third: It's a ways off still.

Lastly: There will be LOTS of 'like' ideas taking shape between now and then....gauranteed.

Very noble idea, and I'm sure all 44 posters would attest to that as well, it's just too far off to really plan anything of that sort. Just my opinion, for the lack of response.

I know its way off but something like this can't be made 2 months before. As far as getting close enough to do a drive by can be arranged since 9/11 is what caused my early retirement from NYPD. Plus not many cops can walk around headquarter in plain clothes with no I.D showing. wearing a green lantern T-shirt and never stopped. :hysterical: The other plus is being an ex employee of the FBI. Believe me they remember me, I always leave a lasting impression :hysterical: I still have my police I.D the only thing different on it is the big letters saying NO FIREARM !! Its not the 1st time I have gotten a time out for my craziness.

All, I want is to make sure we do something we are big enough to be noticed !!! I'm sure Mr. Shelby would agree. I also put this out there so early cause today is sept 1st and you never know what may happen from now to sept 11!! Today started out really bad and sure to get worse. :salute:

Tony,

Great idea! I have a "Patriot Day" cruise happening next Saturday on the 11th out here in California (see Pacific region events). I wouldn't mind planning another next year from the Sacramento Capitol Mall to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (or vice-versa). And I like the "charity" aspect of your suggestion, but I think we should include The Carroll Shelby Foundation in our plans.

Of course I hope Mr. Shelby will be involved tired of these car clubs doing a fund raiser and only a 1/3 goes to the person. The best is haven't even heard a word at a car show about 9/11 on the weekend of the blackest day that killed thoses innocent people and made the walking dead. Along with are economy in the hole and sending are troops to hell to fight for us. Good luck that day have a safe run.
