Tire Pressure Sensors

On my 2010 GT500, two of the four tire valve sensors have cracked in as many months. No reason other than a component failure, all of a sudden you have a flat.

Has anyone else had issues with the latest type sensors?

According to the local FORD Dealer it's just bad luck. There are no TSB's on this issue.

It's somewhat worrying that without notice your tire suddenly deflates without warning.

Maybe I just have a BAD BATCH???

I wish there was a way we could just get rid of the damn things and the idiot light. I thing tire pressure sensors are a ridiculous waste. They were made mandatory just because a few people don't check their tire pressures, so we all pay and suffer for it.

According to the local FORD Dealer here in Dubai, it's just bad luck. There are no TSB's on this issue.

Mines been fine so far.I also think theye a waste because all they do is tell you youre getting a flat.In my GM cars, you can see what the actual pressure is,and they send me an email each month in case Im too lazy to check them. For a 55K car,id think thats whats needed, since we dont have a spare, and we dont have run-flats.BTW, as an engineer im curiuos if the failures are related to heat.Lived in Saudi for a while, and it regually get over 120F
