roll cage and seats

Recommended Posts

Hey guys ive been really thinking of getting a roll cage and some racing seat for the shelby, but cant make up my mind and want to see some in our cars!! :)

Ive been thinking of putting the corbeau FX1 black on black with sliver 5 point harnesses, but havent made up my mind yet!!

and im totally at a loss on roll cages.

Ive heard that the roll bars are nice touches but are not legal at the drag strip once u go past a certain time and than youll have to switch to a roll cage!!

anyways i would really appreciate pics of yalls setup or point me in the right direction on where i should go with this!! lol

thx

Just some thoughts on the roll cage. Many roll cages limit the rear seat travel as the back of the seat hits the bar. If you drive your car a lot and want the full factory seat travel and seat back incline then the roll cage may be a problem. There's been several posts about roll cages / roll bars and the racing requirements so you should get some help by doing a Search on the Forum.

Whichever one you get just make sure it's not one of those bolt to the floorpan jobs. I've seen those things go right through the floorboard and completely flatten the a/b pillar.

Yes, you need it to attach to something other than the floor pan. Not going to work in the event of a roll over. They just punch right thru the floor.

Lethal makes a nice one, but they are very proud of it. spend.gif

There are lots of pre-fab units out there or you could always have a shop custom fab one for you. Make sure you consider all the different events you might take you car to (auto cross, road track and drag strip) and find one that works best.
