Stormracer
I just called them on the phone and talked to a salesman. I asked him about the 2008 "Shelby" vert for sale. I asked him if they are trying to sell that as a Shelby. He stated "oh its not a real Shelby". I then stated that you should not be listing it as such. His reply was that the website is messed up. I then stated how horrendous of a insult that is to Shelby. He stated that "yes its not even a good looking copy" and that someone would have to like it to buy it. He also said how most people would not know if it was a good clone or not. I stated "well I certainly would, since I am own a Real Shelby. The bottom line is that, it appears to me from the conversation that this is a typical bait and switch dealer, that don't give a rats A** if they could scam someone or not. BEWARE of this dealer if you live in Vancouver area. What a joke!!!!!!! :fool:

I love to screw with dealers heads. Most of them think they can make you buy anything and were all morons. My neighbor is a car dealer we chat once in awhile. He never comes to my house but oneday he did he said he wanted to check out my 72 ford truck. I knew he was up to something. He looked over my truck as we chatted and he asked me what I paid for it 2200.00. He said it was a lot for it then he started to give me a sob story. That his brother been looking for a truck like this to do his side work and this truck would be perfect. I told him that I put a grand already into it and would sell it for 5,000.00. Meanwhile his brother drive's an 08 porsche cayanne !! Just like the little old lady just drove it to church

henrycp
Not as bad as one I saw last year, at a Mustang show none the less. It was a 2007 Vista Blue GT that the owner tried to make look like a KR. Had a KR replica hood, a very bad one at that, and had "SHELBY" lettering across the nose of the hood. The letters were too big and the spacing was off. Had 07 - 09 GT500 wheels. Had the rocker stripes with "GT500KR" but the letters were too big and the font was way off. Interior was all stock GT, tan leather. I didn't even respect the effort enough to take a picture. What's worse, some folks there actually thought it was a KR. At least the owner made it clear to them it was not a real KR.
James Hill
I was thinking what all of you are. If it were a private party selling this thing, well, that puts a different spin on it. But given that its a Ford dealership selling it, its uncalled for. I can't agree with the salesperson that blames it on the website. It would not say Shelby if they did not type it in the add. Or who ever wrote the add is a complete dumba** and should be fired. Oh well. I wonder if the add will be pulled, or at least changed now. Maybe we should get 30 or 40 real Shelbys and the owners, all drive onto the lot at the same time so they can get educated on what a real Shelby is. That way, mistakes like this don't ever happen agian.

thewheelman
Awww, geez, guys, you're being way too tough on these guys...hey, they're just trying to make a living. I can see them now, sitting in the back chain smoking and drinking gallons of coffee each day. "How we gonna unload this turd?" "Uh, let's advertise it as a Shelby, they won't know the difference!" "Good idea Bubba, now run out there and put this 'Power Stroke Turbo Diesel' sticker on that Ranger."

Till we opened the bikestore in '99. And , Wheelman, you nailed it! However, you left one thing out my friend.............."Bubba, after you run out there and install that PowerStroke emblem, you and the receptionist go ahead and take the rest of the day off together." So, since it's not a Shelby I guess that makes this a steaming pile of.................. :D QSS It's a Mustang so it's not Crap.......The Dealership is CRAP. there are thousands of Mustangs that have Shelby stuff on them. This is one of them. You can only blame the Dealership here. Being a FORD Dealership, you know that they KNOW what a real Shelby looks like. No Mustang is Crap no matter what it has on it or what it looks like (unless someone puts a Chevy Motor in it). Some Heads at the Dealership needs to roll, that is for sure. It should not cost that much to put new GT Emblems back on the Front Fenders and remove the Shelby Letters from the Deck Lid and Dash. $60.00 maybe. DubbsFaris
Wow, I really, REALLY like that spoiler with 8" COBRA letters. I dont like it when they actually put the SHELBY letters on a clone...the cobra badges, cobra, stripes, I can live with that....just don't put Shelby's name on it. JeffIsHereToo
Best thing they could do is pull all that stuff off and sell it as a nice GT. Done! I'm surprised the ad is still up and hasn't been "Flagged" off the site.
