RACERX009
These are the first round of pics these are pics of the 1st wet sanding 800grit -1000-1500-2000 then rubbed out with 3m heavy cut rub compound. Now remember it's kind of hard doing a 4 step wet sand and then the machine buff with nerve and herniated disc in my neck and back. Just a word of advice never wet sand on pain killers makes everything blurry so, I took forever to wet sand taking 3 day breaks with every step. Then cry myself to sleep my wife had to bath me and wipe me My buddy was pissed and still pissed at me for doing it he won't admit it looks good. He just drives by and yells out a-hole but now my wife and him have a pack. If, I do any body mods or paint she calls him and he takes my car from till he feels its safe to return it and some therapy done even my shrink was like what the F is wrong with you. Hello P.D gave me an 5yr time out and your getting paid to stop me from doing crazy things. So, I fired him !!! Enjoy

Son of GT
Forget about the paint job Tony, you need to take photography lessons...either that or get a better camera. Pssst....you can't tell how good or bad the paint work is because the pictures are so damn blurry and out of focus.
RACERX009
Remember these pics are done after compound rub no polish or glaze and I'm in the process of redoing the wet sand wasn't happy. The car in the day time really flashes the colors at night looks black and under lights it looks gray in someplaces and even has a speckale of blue. Sorry if it doesn't meet the pro's but who knows what color it will be next summer. I'm going to paint the stripes on this winter may do a different color stripe. It was with my BB but thats not the problem it;s my hands tremors thats one of the reasons they took my gun and when I put a strain on my arms it gets worse. So don't ever ask me to use nitroglycerin or carry it I have to get my wife to do the shots. There some you can judge from but will have the wife shoot the final pics

Thanks to the meds I have to wear glasses to read and to see close up so it was fun to sand and not wear them. This was real crazy move on my part. But if it wasn't for the pain it would have been fun and I still have to paint my truck . I'll say it for you guys IDIOT but it does look good alot of thumbs up. REDTAIL
go down to harbor freight and pick up there $49 buffer polisher the get some good swirl remover and finishing glaze . use a yellow pad with the swirl and black one with the finishing glaze youll be glad you did . beats the crap out of hand sanding . when i cut it/ wet sand ill start out with 2000 or 2500. 1000 or 1500 if i have alot of peel or runs i just did the exact thing and the wife's black SGT looks like black glass . on the stripes white would look cool or red . as far as what others think dude its your car have fun with it . that's what its there for . EL SHELBY
Well, it could have turned out a hell of a of worse! Not bad, but as I've said before I'll reserve final judgement until it is seen in person. I will say that it looks like you have one damn nice boot rack! Painting the stripes will be fun considering you cleared over the top of them..... Racer, you are one of my Favorate TS members so thank you for the shot of your crotch. Maybe that should be your new avatar! And people are worried about the 'Babes and Mustangs' thread?
RACERX009
Thanks my fellow Peeps for the some weak bashing, I put the boots on the hood to piss my neighbor off. I can't believe how the pic's came out. I guess it can't handle close up photo. As far as a high speed polisher, I don't trust myself with it plus the weight of it and holding it correctly would be to painful with my neck and arm. I use groits orbital buffer with a cutting pad and 3m heavy duty compound and have to take long breaks. But it takes longer but it comes out like glass in the end. I should be done by the weekend and will use my digital camera and let the wife take them. Taking off the stripes wont be a problem didn't go heavy on the clear over them. I may do new fenders and bumpers the vented ones and a there's a new front bumper out and really nice hood. Now, I must return to the Non- automobile forum to cause more confusion. It's my curse given to me from an old hag after running over her feet !!!
stangman0_2
Could have saved yourself much time and effort if you let the paint cure for a few days and used a DA with 1500 the 2000 grit sand paper, finess-it II with a wool pad, then a foam pad for polishing it and then a final buff with glaze. I recently completed a 63 impala (everyone know how big the car is) and from paint to final buff it took me a total of 19 hours. In the past this car would have taken me weeks to complete. I used house of Kolors base clear and put on 6 coats of clear on it and I had a stripe which ran the entire length of the car that needed the be buried in the clear. Sorry about telling you after the fact but in case anyone is doing paint work in the future.....here it is.

Already have the stop stupidity act in place wife will call neighbor and friend shelby will be removed from reach. Neighbor stores car in his garage then beats me about the head then wife drives me back to mental hospital for a nice 5 week stay. Till that idea has been drain from my head!! The amount that I have spent on pain meds a body shop could have save me some cash and a doctor visit.
