OK, Who Left This Junk On My Front Porch?

Recommended Posts

New Wheels showed up today! Hope to have them on this weekend! 18x9 all the way around so I can mount large brakes on the rear if I choose. May have the rears widen at some point.

And I know someone will ask; 22.4 pounds.

I'll still be able to mount 285's on the 9in. wheel so I'm not loosing any rubber over the GT500 wheel I'm currently running. Once I blow thru the rubber on the rear I'll look in to widening the rears to 10.5. Hopefully, they will clear at that width at that backspacing. Will check this out tonight.

Great photo, I've wondered if any other vistas had these wheels. Deffinitly looks sharp. And I really dig the Terligua.

Nice, Jason!

I almost went with those wheels, but decided to go nostalgic and ended up with the anthracite bullits instead.

I tell everyone the "SR" on the cap means "Shelby Racing" - I'd love to find some Berg-Shelby replacements!

Got them mounted this afternoon. I'm a little upset with the guy I bought my GT500 wheels and tires from. I was told they included the sensors; well he lied and I hadn't gotten around to syncing them nor did I test them. So these new wheels have no sensors. I'll need to replace the tires soon enough and I'll add the sensors then. (By the way, NTB wanted $30 a peice just for the bands! American Muscle carries them at $60 for a set.)

So, now I have 4 GT500 wheels for sell, one wheel has some light roadrash. I'll start a new thread to sell them.

Not as cool as Lambo doors - but they look pretty nice anyway.

  • 2 weeks later...

Are those American Muscle GT4 wheels in Hyperblack? I am torn between the GT4 and the shelby CS69 wheels, they are both great looking wheels and I can't decide.

American Muscle GT4

Pros: Cheaper, has a deep dish 10" wide rear wheels available for 305 tires, lighter, will fit Baer extreme brakes

Cons: durability not sure, made somewhere in Asia, not a brand many recognize (SR?)

Shelby CS69

Pros: Shelby Brand, will fit Baer extreme brakes,

Cons: Heavy, expensive, does not have 10" wide rear wheels

If they didn't have some kind of connection with Shelby, I might not have gone with them as well. But there is a very very small connection. Just wish we could get thos center caps!

Yes, these are the GT4 in hyperblack from American Muscle. At $600 for a set of wheels it was worth the gamble to test these out. There are enough folks running these wheels now that I'm sure they more than capable. I would love to have a set of CS wheels but I cannot justify the cost right now. I plan to pick up a set of CS wheels in 20's for show some time in the future. Maybe once they introduce some new wheels that they claim they are working on.

I've been thu hell trying to get tires on these wheels. I had them mounted almost two weeks ago. After a day of driving i noticed I had a bad shake in the steering wheel. So I took it back to have the balance checked. All the wheels where rebalanced but it didn't improve anything. I figured this ment it was the clip on one the studs up front securing the rotors. Sure enough, that was the issue. Problem is I noticed a nasty scratch in one of the wheels. I take the car back up to NTB and show them the damage. They offer to send the wheel off to be repaired. Well, the wheel comes back and the repair looks good but the paint does not match. So I talked NTB into buying me a new wheel. The new wheel arrives but now NTB has lost my Tire! After two days of going back and forth NTB agrees to buy me two new front tires so I'll have a match set. I hope to have all of this done this weekend. Good news from all this is I now have a matching (somewhat) spare wheel and tire.

NTB has been helpful and willing to work with me on this but they would have done the bare minimum if I hadn't said the minimum wasn't acceptable.
