Do it while you can.

Recommended Posts

My wifes aunt and uncle have been stopping by the house about four times a year and stay with us for about a week. This has been going on for a few years now and we always look forward to there visits. They arrived Friday and we got into our regular routine, cook-outs every nite, card games, board games, and just plain visiting. On Monday the Aunt said she wasn't feeling well, seeing that we have one of the best medical centers in the midwest we talked her into going in and have a doctor check her over. Turns out she has only three days to three weeks to live. Cancer in her liver and in her kidneys, such a nice person, I'm still in shock.

Real sorry to hear about your wifes aunt. I hope her remaining time is full Love, Joy and Family.

I couldn't agree more with "Do it while you can". Life is short, so enjoy each day with those you love.

Sorry to hear such sad news storm. A good buddy of mine at the age of 25 years just found out he has cancer all over his chest this past weekend when he came to the ER for just plain nausea, vomiting and a cough. A chest X-ray and CT were done and this guys chest was all white in the x-ray picture.

It's a shocker, he's a great friend and co-worker and this hit us all like a ton of bricks.

He's admitted into the hospital awaiting a biopsy and insertion of a port to start chemo therapy. I agree with many, live it up with the ones you love, spend good times with friends and family for no one is promised tomorrow.

My prayers goes out to you and your loved ones.

I have to agree with all the above posts, you just never know!

I had to rush the little woman in last with pain in her left arm and nausea..... Heart Attack at 58! She doing well since I got her there quick enough. Tell everyone, if in doubt go to hospital, a bottle of gas-x is better than a coffin!

I think I'm gonna start driving the Shelby a little more often!

Storm and Fordrocks your people are in my prayers as well as all who suffer!

Take care and stay well.

My prayers and thought go out you and your family.

As I am almost 60 myself, I finally had to go the Doc back in 2008, after a run in with an elk in my wife's car. While there my wife mentioned I hadn't had my annual check up for probably 15 years.

My BP was thru the roof and my cholesterol was high. I am overweight (aren't we all?) I started on meds for the two serious issues, lost 25 lbs and had a colonoscopy last fall.

After the run in with the elk, I startred to think about my own mortality. You DO need to treat each day as a gift and live lfe to the fullest. I had owned my SGT for a little over 3 months at that point. Even though I don't drive it as much as some of you guys, I decided I wanted to be around a lot longer so I could drive it for a long time.

We both went thru all the tests because life can throw you a curve, we wanted to do what we could to prevent what we can. Beyond that, it is out of our hands and we have to trust there is a reason for the rest.

What bothers me the most is she;s only 46, way too young, she has a great attitude about the whole thing, she keeps saying, "I've had a good life, no big deal". I told them they could stay at our house untill whenever, but, they don't want to "impose" on us, so today they are applying for hospice housing near the hospital. I guess they have a very good program for low income people, they don't have a pot to piss in, they both lost their jobs and were living in a 1990 van camper, but always said they just loved it. It just dosen't seem fair.

Im so sorry bud. Wow, but at least she does have the right outlook. Every day is a gift, and if I had no tomorrow, I would be happy with what I have had up to today. My family has had a ton of cancer in it....the shock never goes away. Wish there was something we could do for her.
