Thanks for the heads up!!! I'm all excited just to hear the GT500 exhaust on TV. My program guide says it's a turbocharged 2010 Chevy Camaro 1000 HP challenging a Supercharged 2010 Shelby Mustang GT500 in Texas. Better be evenly modded or it's not much of a challenge.

Looks to be an interesting match up . Any idea who the Tunners are for both Cars ?

Damn it , i don't have speed TV .

Hopefully some kind person will post it on You tube .

Battle of the Supercars on Speed TV July 29 has a modded 1000HP 2010 GT500 vs a 1000HP twin turbo 2010 Camaro. Sounds like a fair race to me. lol. Get that PVR set up to record!!!!

"fastlane" of houston built and tuned the camaro.

"autograph signature automobiles" of houston built the gt500 (fastlane tunes all of autograph's builds).

Winner GT500 !!! Both freakin' amazing cars.......190 MPH in the texas mile!!!! WOW!!!

It sure would be awesome to have a tire manufacturer as a sponsor. lol

I am suspect of the power ratings of both cars. From what I saw it looked like they were closer to 800 HP.

Yeah. According to the show, the power adders for the GT500 were a tune, 2.8L SC, intercooler, LTH and 3" exhaust. I don't see how they made 1000 HP with that? Maybe I just don't know enough.

I was really worried once I saw the trailer, 1000hp twin turbo Camaro vs 1000 hp 2.8L KB w/ headers ?? Thanks god the Camaro's numbers were over inflated like the GT500's 1000 hp on a 2.8L with minimal mods GT500. You'd think the speed channel could find a dyno in the LA area on there Supercar Showdown TV show to back these numbers up like Motor Trend and other do on there little youtube channel.

They were probably figuring apprx. 850rwhp with is close to 1000 flywheel hp. Hey it's hollywood, still enjoyed the show and the GT500 showing it's tail lights to the camaro.

Battle of the Supercars rocks! I've seen three episodes and its amazing what is made out there. On a note from last night's show, that car was beautiful. I love the Silver/Black combo and the Wheels/Tires/Brakes were awesome!!! Anyone want to buy me some of those rims? I am surprised it took longer for it to stop than the Camaro. I noticed blue valve covers so I assume it was a 2011. With the massive disk/caliper setup I would have thought it would stop much quicker.

The sounds were just AMAZING , WOW,OMG , HS and you get the picture !!! It made you want to go drive your car like a mad man. Those wheels and the way the Shelby sat was just perfect. That guy has balls to drive that thing @ 190 MPH cause SVT put a limit @ 155. Not sure SVT ever drove one that fast. Hell the Ford GT in stock trim can barely hit 201 MPH. That was just a balls to the wall show.

Great series!! I think that Paul Tracey is a better overall driver than Tanner Foust. I would have liked to have seen the out come if Tracey had driven both cars or if he drove the GT500 and Foust drove the Camaro. I think the GT500 would have won by a larger margin.

Thanks for posting that . Both cars are making awesome power .

Just goes to show how hard these high HP and Torque cars are to launch , even with Pro's driving with a decent set of tires .

I also would have like to have seen the drivers swap vehicles .

Found the braking different with a set of 6 piston brakes not as good as you might have thought the GT500 would do. Tracy said as much Camero still had stock setup think its got Brembos as well. Would have been cool to see a Griggs equipped car run in this head to head. To me those cars are the most well rounded that can be achieved. I was suprised the limiter was still on the shelby if that tuner had been tweaking on it. sounds like it had the KB tune in it. And the best part of the video is the GT500 hitting the 3rd gear powerband and rolling out but the camero was coming back at the end top speeds were not but a couple mph differnet.
