bchorney
Had some fun at the track yesterday. I tried out some MT Street ETs on my old stock rims, 305/45R18's same size BoneDoc runs. Thanks Ron. The sticky tires sure helps with traction. Now I just need to practice getting a good burnout and start. I am sure I can do better. For reference Calgary is 3,438ft and the altitude calculator put this at 11.63 @ 121.30 MPH at sea level. http://www.wallaceracing.com/convert-et-to-msa-et.php Cheers Brett
BoneDoc
Nice Brett! your 60' time reflects the fact that your getting better tire hookup/launch.... a sub 2 second 60' time in a 4100# street car is pretty good. did you let air out of the rears? i usually take them down to around 16psi. nice run.... believe me i understand your frustration with altitude. my track is at about 5400 feet! cars starves for oxygen! Ron Thanks Ron. I didn't want to go too low with the tire pressure as it was the first time out with them, I had them at 20lbs. I will try lower next time. Hey, do you have a line lock on your car for burnouts? As well, do you burn out in 2nd? I had a hard time getting a good burnout. The guys at the track weren't putting much water in the box. The guys at the strip here in Calgary are pretty good. They let me use 611 for my race number, same as my CSM. Cheers Brett

Cheers Brett Brett i got a line lock installed in the off-season. Last year i pumped the brakes to burnout, but long term that can eat away your back brakes pretty quickly....better to get a linelock - just less wear and tear on your car. Anyone who plans to drag-race more than a couple times a year should consider. I do burnout in 2nd gear. here is a vid from earlier this year : I dont have this time slip anymore but i believe this run was around 11.7 @ 119mph. maybe 1.8 60' time.... again- at 5400 ft altitude. I had the nitto 305/45/18's on my stock rims. 16psi. a good burnout makes a big difference. I also think the LCA relocation brackets have made big difference in ability to launch as well.
