996twint
I was originally looking at a leftover Roush 427R and noticed a bunch of GT500's next to it. I haven't had the chance to drive either yet, but I'm leaning towards the GT500 based on what I saw. What discounts are people getting on the 2010? Any incentives from Ford coming next month? You will see a 2 or 3 grand incentive of some form on '10s between now and the end of the year. There have been incentives on '07s, '08s, and '09s. 50 thousand and up for a Mustang selling into a rather saturated market is a tall order. Look to pay low 40s for a new '10 at that point. There are a ton of new '10 and '11s on Ebay looking for a home. Don't let anyone tell you that these cars are rare or hard to come by as they are certainly not. Shelby badged Mustangs have been built by the 10s of thousands and will never be a rare item. A sharp consumer pays at or close to invoice on a new car. No reason not to hold your wallet closed until ya find that pricing on a 500. .
Torched10
i agree--invoice is what id expect right now--if youre not in a hurry,im sure there'll be some incentives once Ford starts Job 2 in August. The dealers stil make money at invoice because of the hold back from Ford--I think its 3%, which is 1200 on a 45K invoice car.My usual routine , except for my 2010 shelby, is to email several dealers who have your car, and tell them not to call you,but ask them for invoice. If you send out 5 youll get 2 responses--then you work from there. It avoids all the BS of going to the dealer, negotiating etc.I was lucky to deal with Michael Morris and didnt get that hassle, but i dont think he'll do an invoice deal
ponyboy96
I bought my 10 in the middle of May and got it for $500 over invoice. The dealer had to ship it from Ohio to Georgia, so not a bad deal. The rest of the stealerships in the Atlanta metro were wanting over MSRP for a 10 still. I was picky on the options that I wanted, so I really had to search around (red w/white stripes, electronics package, HIDs). There weren't too many floating around nearby at that time. I could have got a white w/ grabber blue stripes all day at invoice or less.
996twint
It is probably worth it for me to get a 2011 with the price differences I'm getting plus I'm getting a newer model year. If I can get either at invoice, it will take some incentives from Ford to make it worthwile to get a 2010. I'll wait it out until Monday and see what Ford comes up with. Cdvision
Up here in Canada they are doing the Family Plan pricing on all 2010 and most 2011 Fords (the 2011 Shelby is not included). GT500's that retail for $59,049 Canadian are now $53,513. About $1500 less than what I paid for mine. A friend of mine had a dealer down to $52,000 Canadian.
