EL SHELBY
With the PITA it is to put even a low profile jack under the SGT, I'm wondering how usable a custom air jack system is on a car that is not a track only ride? Obviously they are pricey and most kits will not lift more then 2500lbs, but I found this kit that is rated to over 4k. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=6208 Smart money would buy and install a set of jacking rails but talk about Kool if you have an air jack set-up! jmn444
I would buy a lift for that kind of money so you can use it for all of your cars.
EL SHELBY
True, if you have the room for a lift.

Son of GT
Sure, a good idea in principal, but would it be practical on a street driven car? The 4 lift rams would be adding an additional 30 LBS to the car, then you have to plumb air lines to each one. After all that, according to the ad, you will only get 9.5 inches of lift (fully extended), and you would loose some of that span/distance because the rams would have to be welded onto the chassis up high enough to insure ample ground clearance under the car when they are retracted/stowed. Remember, race cars that have these are extreemely low to the ground in the first place, some with less than 6 inches of clearance, so installing air lift rams on cars that sit so low makes sense. Essentally, the way I figure it, you would only be able to get the car up a couple of inches off the ground, and in order to even get that much lift, I suspect that it would require you to have the rams hang slightly below the chassis, and that will cost you some ground clearance when driving. And to the best of my recollection, race cars equipped with air lifts only come off the ground about 3 to 4 inches (if that much), which is just enough to remove and replace a wheel and tire off the car. Seems to me that even though they are a pain in the ass, you would be better off using a low profile jack with jack stands, or lift ramps if you don't have the room to install a full size lift.
