JSK
OK. I knew it was going to be painful...... I didn't ask, cause I knew....... I just called my insurance agent when my Shelby vert came in and told her I needed to add the car. She asked what it was and hoping I could get it added under the radar...I just said, "Oh, a mustang." I didn't ask her how much, I didn't want to draw any more attention to the fact that I was adding a Shelby with 500 horses. She did say, she would call me with the amount and I said that was fine. She called a few days later to tell me the "number." Yeap, it wasn't good news at all, so I asked her, "Why are my premiums so high?" She simply said, "It is the cars you drive." My wife and I both have Escalades (mine is a truck though) and my daughter drives a 2005 mustang, but I must tell you the Shelby is 30% higher than either cady...go figure. I asked her if I increased the deductibles on the Shelby would it help and she said it would, so I increased the deductibles to $1000 for both Collison and Comprehensive. My annual premium for the Shelby is still $2200 (I do carry the highest limits on coverage, though). An interesting side note here- My daughter's six cyclinder mustang (non-GT) is just $120 less annually. I don't know if that is good (cause you would think the Shelby would be MUCH higher) or bad (cause the other mustang is almost as high as the Shelby). When I added the other mustang back in 05, my agent informed me that I was the highest rated driver in the famliy because of my history of speeding tickets.... plus, the last one I had since 05 caught me running 90 on my way through Mississippi , so I knew it was going to be bad. The Shelby is a blast to drive and is all the fun I hoped it would be..... "No pain, no gain."

SCGT500 Co Pilot
Wow that's high. Mine is just over $400/ 6 months and includes a guarantee replacement vehicle. I am still checking on the details because I know they cannot get me another car? So why are we paying for it?
str8black500
Well depending on ure daughters age... her only 120$ less price has more to do with her age than her car.
KCMO-GT500
man, that is a tough price to pay; my shelby is costing me around 550 every 6 months, and that is with 17 and 21 year old boys in the house. I have taken a stance of using a lawyer to resolve all of our traffic tickets now; luckily that only happens every year or two, but certainly helps out a lot with keeping the insurance low.
