There was a significant amount of people with the throttle stuck wide open due to a tunining issue. I realize this is the exact opposite but a lot of peole were freaking out over the wide open throttle as well and the temporary cure was to shut the car down and restart. Some parameter in the tune had to be changed due to a software change and I think all those people have remedied their problem.
twobjshelbys
Drive by wire, yes? Throttle is merely a request calculated by reading a Throttle Position Sensor to send a command via the computer to the engine. Keep an eye on it. At least you're not heading down the freeway at 1000MPH.
PistolWhip
Heheh, Really makes me think back fondly about my old days with the Holley 750 double pumpers that would simply blow power valves once a month.... LOL We sure have come a long way in not only technology advancements but in the problems we could face, haven't we?

I freaked out for a minute shut the car off started it again and everything was fine. anybody have this happen or any ideas what the heck happened before i take it in. This has happened to me twice, once at about 1500 miles and again last week, at about 3000 miles. Both times, I had driven the car and shut it off for a short time. Weather was hot, like 90-plus. Car restarted fine, but depsite flooring the throttle, the engine would not rev over 1200 rpm or so. Shutting the car off and restarting it resolves the problem. After it happened the first time, I took it to the dealer. The tech came out and asked me how fast I had driven the car to date. I told him about 85 mph. He said the computer was coding as "vehicle overspeed" and thus had shut off the throttle, thinking I was going 155 mph (or whatever the electronic nanny limiter is set at). He cleared the code and the car was fine for the last three weeks. As I said above, it happened again last week, so back to the dealership it goes. What if I had been trying to merge on the highway or make a left turn? I could have been killed. So far both incidents have happened at start-up, but I'm documenting it with the dealer. Ford will either fix the problem, disable the top-speed nanny (which is what is triggering the damn problem in the first place) or I go to the feds and report a dangerous defect. My first thread on this is here: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?/topic/57980-non-responsive-throttle/
