Anybody here have the JBA manifolds on their Super Snake like Shelby offers

Recommended Posts

Does Shelby offer a JBA manifold and exhaust system for the Super Snake or do any Supersnake owners have whe JBA system that Shelby offers? Because I've seen a lot of videos with Shelbys with only the Borla exhaust and the Shelby Magazine and some other magazines and websites list that you can get a JBA exhaust system for the Super Snake.

Or the only Super Snake to ever have the JBA system is the 2007 Super Snake prototype

To keep the Super Snake 50 state federal emissions legal they did not alter any of the original exhaust system ahead of the catback. The Super Snake came with Borla 2.5" catback as part of the conversion during that time period and does now as far as I know, except I believe an option Borla catback is now available.

The 2007 Shelby parts catalog did offer a full mandral bent 3" JBA system that could be installed after the Super Snake conversion was completed at SAI. I think is was called "Optional Super Snake 700 exhaust" or something like that. There were a few variations, with cats, without cats, with long tubes, with manifolds, etc. I bought this 3" JBA set-up with cats and with manifolds, however, I installed Ford Racing shortys as part of the exhaust upgrade on my 725.

The tips look Great!!

You can add the Shelkby JBA after the SS package is complete. It was not an option when I bought my car to be installed at Shelby. Buy they will update your car on the registry to have it.

I love it! Its 3" all the way out and I even dumped my cats! Boy does it sound good!!

One thing that I have noticed........................this 3" JBA exhaust stuff is no longer listed in the Shelby parts listing.

I'm glad I picked it up when I did.

Lee - Did you do tubed headers also?

Okay, thanks for the help guys! :happy feet:

I saw a couple of videos on youtube that John an Van took of your car. It sounds great! BTW, I also like your wheel modifications of widening the rims to 335s. Porsches, Beemers and other exotic imports must be getting frustrated with you when the see that they are in your rearview mirror. :shift:

I have yet to find a Porsche or Beamer that has been willing to give it a go. I did run a new 5.0 stang the other day.

It still had paper tags on it. Guy was all proud of his new bad ass ride, pulls up next to me lunging back and forth. His buddy in the car was pointing "go, go, go". I even let him have a little headstart. His window was down and by the stunned look on his face as I flew by I could tell he has never heard a Kenne Bell at 19psi. Needless to say I walked him in a very demasculating fashion! I drove by him like he was on a moped!! When they caught up to me after about a mile they drove past with there heads hanging. I actually felt a little guilty for bursting his bubble! But I figure thats what he gets for bringing a 400hp knife to an 800hp gun fight! After that butt whipping I dont think he will be picking races with anything that says "Shelby" and has a black stripe down the middle!

I gave my girl a good pat on the dash after that one!

I could tell there was going to be excitement in the story you had for us!!! Although the new 5.0L does run well straight from Ford, turning on with a car that is twice as powerful leaves the 5.0L owner, well, as you said "heads hanging".

The "press back in the seat" feel of a 700+ Super Snake while hearing the KB sound like a "zipper", it has to be experienced.......

:lurk: Taught that guy a lesson, and leave that term bringig a knife to a gunfight for the imports. It's cool that you raced a 2011 5.0 Mustang, but that's sort of friendly fire. IMO

Friendly fire yes, but it sounds like he (the 2011) chose to kick it on, "possibly" to teach that older body style Mustang and owner who was now the boss, and the Super Snake (Lee) was only there to help reality show itself, and yes, a lesson learned........

When they finally caught up, Lee should have leaned over towards the open passinger side window and said...

"OH, YOU MUST HAVE THOUGHT THAT I HAD A 4.6 IN THIS BABY"

Lee I had a similar encounter with a brand new SS Camaro the other day..... 90 day tag still on her.

I thought that young man was gonna cry when I blew past him like he was standing still.....

Will know better next time around!

I agree, which is why I felt just a little bad, but a pecking order is a pecking order!

On a highway stomp there are not many cars are the road that would not take a quick backseat to a Super Snake!

I was watching "Battle of the Supercars" the other day where they had a modified twin turbo Porsche VS a modified Ferrari. They ran a 2 mile stretch after a sweeping corner (the Ferarri swept the corner at 170). Ferarri was the fastest with a top speed was 190. I clocked 190.7 in a mile from a dead stop in my SS at the Texas Mile last year! These cars are just plain bad ass! Especially when you get them rolling!!

Especially when you have widened wheels to help get all of that traction with those 335s. I've seen your traction thread so that's how I'm aware about your widened tires.

I saw both videos of your snake. One was an exterior shot done by John, and the other was an interior shot done by Van if I'm correct.

While at Quantum Perf. one day he started a Super Snake with the full JBA stuff from headers all the way back and that thing sounded wicked! Had never heard any Mustang with JBA exhaust before but was quite surprised at how good it was. I would say its similar sound to Bassani
