gth0007
Just when you think you've heard or seen it all !!! There's a 2009 GT-500 on Ebay, item # 360269021571, for a "Buy It Now " price of $637.49. Only one catch, it's just a shell, totally a salvage with little to no useable parts. Seller is Cleveland Pick-A-Part who states the car could be used to build a race car ?? Even the cowl is heavily bent. The Seller says NO title, just bill of sale, and doesn't give the Vehicle Identification Number. Maybe a body shop / rebuilder could have some use of this "car" for the remaining un-bent body panels, but to offer it to the general public, I don't get it. Just my opinion. skyhighsd
Its the perfect foundation for a track car or drag car not much different that buying a white car from ford only they come with more body pannels. Look at it this way if you are going to buy a lot of CF or glass body pannels anyways why pay for them twice and you are not going to use any of the factory susp. it works. Now we are talking about a full out race car not a street car!

Now we are talking about a full out race car not a street car! Look at the pics, that car is going to one place, a scrapyard. Needs a whole new unibody, if you have any hopes the race car would drive straight or even mildly protect the driver. The rear frame appears to have some buckling in it. Now we are talking about a full out race car not a street car! I see your point, but these type salvage cars tend to find themselves "back on the road". Even though the "car" is being sold without a title, it is very easy get a title in many states. Once a Shelby title is obtained then we can use our imagination what comes next. If I lived in the greater Cleveland area I would be very careful where I park my 2007-2009 Shelby. Salvage V.I.N. switches are a popular form of Fraud / Theft. In my opinion, once a car is parted down to this point, there needs to be a huge THUD as the crusher smashes the car. Just one person's opinion. thewheelman
Hmmm, the only thing I see really good on that car is the cobra on the passenger front fender......I can't imagine paying anything over the scrap metal value for that...... Nitro
Actually you missed it, there is one other useable part, the fuel door seems to have survived intact.

Actually, it appears the cobra emblem is gone and all that's left behind is the dirty adhesive.

twobjshelbys
Somebody came "this close" to having an engine in their lap. Air bags probably saved a life or two here.
