Hello everyone, yes this is my first cobra out of three regular GT's and "WOW" is all I can say. I wanted to know on my 2011, can it be lowered onto 20" wheels by just adding lowering springs such as eibach, or will I need caber and caster plates etc... I only want about a 1" drop. I don't want to lose too much ride quality.

I have installed the FR3 Handling Pack on my 2011 vert along with 20" Alcoa's.

Lowered the front just under 1" and the rear just over 1.25". Love the new look and ride. I did install caster/camber plates. Without them or camber bolts, once lowered you will not be able to align to within factory specs.

Thanks for the info. I lowered my 1999 with eibach's, shock, struts, caster plates, and it rides like a nascar, just don't want to run into the same problem. I want a lower look but not a bumpy ride. Your car looks great, I can't wait until my wheels come in, people are already snapping photos of the car while I'm driving on the interstate and gathering around when I'm parked, it's only going to get crazier after the wheels. I was going to get a Viper, but figured I would save $50,000 and still get the same speed. :shift:

same concerns regarding the ride here we do not want it harsher. The shelby/roush tech at the dealership recommended waiting until springs are specifically designed for the 2011 due to the changes in the weight distribution/weight loss in this model.

SVT has springs out now for what they say are for '07 thru '11 GT500 coupes.

It's the same spring from the FR3 handlings packs. Same springs I have installed in mine. Recommened for the same Damper Kit and same Anti-roll bar kits from the FR3 Handling Pack. Same as what's installed on my car.

Well that pretty much clears up seeing if the weight difference matters.

I just installed the FRPP springs on my non-SVTPP 2011

The springs are part number M-5300-L which were listed as 07-11 springs.

I am happy with the result and they dont ride that much harsher, but I really wish the nose was about 1/4" lower (you can tell these springs are made for the aluminum block).

here are a couple shots:

Nice, I too am considering lowering my svtpp car. Has any one done this and if so what parts exactly do I need. Lastly, how much harsher will the ride be? I am considering vossen wheels and the set up looks a lot better if the car is dropped.

I have the Eibach Coilovers on my 2011 and like it. Rides a little bit more firm than the stock SVTPP. But, not too harsh. Everyone has a different tolerance for ride quality.
