Mark Badgley
I have been trying to figure out where the 6 Daytona Coupes are located: Does anybody have the information to fill in the blanks: 1. CSX 2286 - Owned by Rob Walton of Wal Mart. I believe it is in the USA, but I have no idea where. 2. CSX 2287 - Simeone Collection in Philadelphia 3. CSX 2299 - Shelby Ameriican Collection in Boulder Colorado 4. CSX 2300 - Owned by Jim Spiro in New Orleans, LA 5. CSX 2601 - Just sold at Mecum for $7.25M. No idea to whom or where it went in the world 6. CSX 2602 - The last article I could find said it was in Japan. I did read an article that the owner of CSX 2299 had two of them. One was on loan to the Shelby Collection, but that seems to conflict with what I have read other places. Any thoughts would be appreciated. MMcGuirk
I saw 5 of 6 together at the Wine Country Classic in 1995. I have print photos, will scan and post next week.
John Canfield
Spiro sold his car (CSX2300) years ago to buy a '63 (?) Testa Rossa. He did drive that thing, even on the street of New Orleans. If you do a search on posts that were around the time of the last Daytona auction, we put up a current list of what was where.

Miller (Miller Motorsports, Utah Jazz, and a whole bunch of automobile dealerships in Utah and other places). The car is not at the Shelby American Collection (at least it was not a few weeks ago). It was present at the Shelby recognition that happened this spring up in Canada. I'd heard it could be going to Salt Lake since there was another vehicle --a GT40 -- on loan from the Miller collection. I have lots of pictures of 2299 posted here. This is one of my favorites: The video just happened to have Bondurant on.
Cali_KR
According to the World Registry, 4th Edition published by SAAC, CSX 2602 is still in Japan, and CSX 2300 is now in Europe

DutchGT500
Just kiddin'. No Daytona Coupe at Le Mans last weekend. I went to the Le Mans Classic in France to watch the races. They race on the big 13.6 km Le Mans 24hr track and about 3000 cars from all brands and clubs are parked on the smaller Bugatti track. They have 6 paddocks that show six age periods of race cars. 1923-1939, 1949-1956, 1957-1961, 1962-1965, 1966-1971 and 1972-1979. The 4th and 5th have my interest most. The three races each class do are about an hour and they drive on daytime and nighttime. Fortunately we had taken a bike with us so we could go everywhere easy. We camped at a field 200 yards next to the track. You can imagine what you will hear when trying to sleep. The GT40, Shelby GT350, Matra, Lola T70, Ferrari 365 GTB, Porsche 908 and 917. What a treat. My son (6) and I had a super time and I am so proud of him that he managed to stroll for 3 days and even the 2 hrs in the night. We set the alarm at 2AM, biked to the track and watched the nightraces of class 4 and 5. We left at 11AM on Sunday, drove back to The Netherlands in about 8hrs and arrived tired but satisfied. Here is the plan of the exhibition on the Bugatti track which is part of the large 24hr track (other picture). The last 24 hrs race the winners drove about 3350 miles with average speed of 140 mph. Back in the days that the Mulsanne straight was indeed straight without the two chicanes cars were doing 240 mph. Who remembers the MercedesCLR flying and backflipping in 1999? At the Le Mans Classic it is a different thing. Speeds are pretty high but the 50s and 60s cars are sliding a lot as they are not allowed to use modern tires. For my album with some photos. http://s556.photobucket.com/albums/ss4/dutchGT500/Le%20Mans%20Classic%202010/ Here are some teasers.
cobrakidz
When CSX2300 was being restored in nor cal years ago I went and took pics and watched them work on the paint and body work, I'll try and dig them out. I too was at Sears Point when they had the reunion, great to see most of them together again. Carroll showed up to that event, he rode in a 427 Cobra to pace the field of Daytonas at lunch time.
