2011 Photos

Edit:More photos including rolling shots.

I belong to a local car club that has several photographers that are semi-pro or just out there making a name for themselves. Of course the 2011 has caused a bit of a stir and I've been approached to go on several car shoots. It's been hard to get out since the Shelby isn't actually a boat and it's been nothing but non stop rain for weeks. Wierd weather.

Here are a few shots from last night. Doing another photo shoot later tonight and will keep posting pictures as I get them. Figured you guys would be interested in some nice 2011 shots.

No laughing at my fuzzy dice...it's a nostalgia thing, my 69 Camaro SS came with a pair that had been in the vehicle for 25+ years when I bought it.

Your car looks great, the background for me really make the car pop that much more, it's very rare, industriall, almost dirty and there you find the beauty among it all.

Dirty isn't the word lol. To the right of the car in the third picture there was an empty vodka bottle, discarded underwear and what appeared to be a half eaten dead pidgeon. I really don't want to know what went on there the night before. I guess it comes with the territory of abadoned parkades.

Thanks for sharing Ezkill. I like the first picture the best. Good background to use as others have mentioned. Are you going to be having some printed up for framing or something?

Now...about those dice....35cer2g.gif

Yes I'll get some large prints made up for sure. I'm waiting for him to edit some more photos before I make any picks of the ones that I would like to make into prints. He went through 3, 8 gigabyte cards shooting the car so he has 100's of pictures. I'm waiting for the rolling shots as those were the most fun to take and I generally love rolling shots. I'll update the thread as I get more pictures....

Sounds cool. 100's of pictures? Wow. I plan on getting some frames and good pics and doing a wall with stuff from my car. I made a little thing involving the window sticker too. It'll probably be one of those vacation projects. I've been taking a few pics every month since I've had my car at parks. Haven't found any super - unique places to shoot photos like yours....but I plan on going to a few different areas and see what I can come up with. I'm just taking the photos myself...I enjoy it...and I don't think I'm too bad at it.

Look forward to seeing more of your photos in the future.

These guys were a bit nuts albiet in a good way. If you look at the first picture there is a cable hanging down behind the car but in the second picture were it's a rear shot of the car the cable is gone. The cable was actually in the way for the rear shots so one of them scaled the building like a monkey to pull the cable up because it was in the way of the shot he wanted to take. Then we go to do rolling shots and he's hanging out the door of their car with the camera 6 inches off the pavement while doing 65. They sure were willing to do a lot to get the right shot.

Don't get too caught up in the background, as the right amount of saturation, contrast, and/or burning can make almost any background look good and unique. These are all AWESOME shots, but if the original was posted next to the 'touched-up' shots you'd see what I mean.

Keep 'em coming, they look great!

I wasn't even thinking that they had been touched up. All the photos I took of my car I left as they were. They looked great and I didn't feel the need to do anything to them.

Think of It as Megan Fox with and without makeup.

Either way she looks good, but the makeup makes her look better than life.

Now if she could just do something about those thumbs.

First of all...lol.

Second of all yes, alot of it is "post processing". The pictures look good raw, but once they are processed in photoshop and corrected they end up looking fantastic. Don't get me wrong photography takes skill and these guys certainly have it. As important as composition, lighting and angles are in the pictures, the post processing is what makes them pop. Post processing also takes a lot of skill.

"Girls like guys with skills." - Napoleon Dynamite

One of my favorite quotes.

I'm also going to coin "Great Bart's think alike" .... I couldn't help but notice your name after you signed some posts. I guess I can no longer maintain exclusivity.

Just for the record - I was named after Bart Starr, NOT Bart Simpson! :rant2:
