Howdy!

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and gush about my new Shelby a little. It's a phenomenal car. She's a black 2011 Shelby GT500 with stripe delete and SVT Performance Package. As much as I like how much the electronics package cleans up the center console, it's not terrible without out and only adds marginal functionality. Plus, as far as navigation goes, the Ford system will eventually be outdated simply because portable navigation hardware keeps getting better and better. This new Shelby is an incredible machine. So...yeah...here's some pictures...

Looks Awesome.

I love the Electronics package most for the touch screen. Touch screen Climate Control, all my music selection, Radar, my phone (phone book, recent call list, dial pad while driving). I rarely use the Nav except to see construction zones in unfamiliar territory.

Welcome to you. Yours is the first 2010-2011 model I have seen without stripes and I like it a lot. But remember that having a black car is not a hobby, it is a full time job. :hysterical: When you have time, it would be nice to see some shots of the dash and the rest of the interior.

And, at the risk of asking the obvious, what do you have in mind for your first mods?

The Ford NAV isnt bad compared to GM/Chrysler which kind of suck, I do like the weather radar thing which is kinda cool, plus it does clean up the center stack quite a bit.

But yea, a 250.00 Garmin is still better overall and you can get lifetime map updates for 99.00.

Looks great without the stripes on a black car.

Not sure on mods yet...I know there's a ton out there, and I know the bug will get me eventually. One of the first things I might do is add the non-performance pack flat black or silver stripe package to the car. I dunno, not sure if it's worth it. I kinda like it without stripes, but it doesn't seem like a Shelby without something there :) The SVT PP Red stripes tickle my interest as well, I just didn't want red stripes on my seats so I didn't get the car with them.

The car is almost perfect as is. My only gripe is the seating position isn't as "bucket-y" as my Infiniti was...combined with the lack of a telescoping steering wheel, it doesn't feel as sporty in the seat. Still, I'm comfortable enough in the car and driving it is 10000 times more visceral than any other car I've owned.
