My car is on the production line!

Well after lots of wait lists, shady dealers, bumped deals and now HUGE help from a family member with friends in the right places, I got the "the deal" I wanted and now my Vista Blue vert is on the production line! I am at a loss to describe how I feel and hope that the reality meets the expectations that have built up over the last year and a half.

I have been a Mustang and Shelby fan all my life and had kicked myself for not buying any Shelby (or any vintage Mustang for that matter) when I thought they were unobtainable to the average joe. I'd been plotting the last 5 years to buy a vintage mustang and update it with modern Terminator mechanicals when I learned about the potential new for 2008 Shelby Mustang. From what I learned on this site I had decided that the Gt500 was the best of all worlds and what I wanted. I am crossing my fingers that nothing goes haywire in the process and I can drive it home in the next month or so. The anticipation is killing me!

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and support. I have made a few friends here and look forward to sharing in all that Gt500 goodness behind the wheel soon!

A Vista Blue convertible - that will be beautiful! Ours may not be too far behind yours on the production line - I'm kinda expecting it in about 5 weeks. Red & White coupe - but I had a really hard time deciding between that and Vista Blue & White. The only thing that made me go red is that I wanted the two-tone interior.

Best of luck!

Thanks All. I'm told that stripes on the verts are done at the plant an not at the "stripe shop". Apparently the hold for the tranny cases is on a car by car basis post production and my car was released for shipping! I'm guessing 3-4 weeks to make it back west...

Thanks. Vista Blue is as close to Acapulco Blue as I could get! I wish there was a 2 tone option here as well but that would be nitpicking under the circumstances!

Congrats! You will love it. It took 2 months and 5 days form ordering till it was driven home. You'll not want to leave it in a parking lot or if you do you park in the back in two spaces like you hate to see people do. And you'll be glancing at all way to the store and while inside to make sure see is safe! I got a Tourch Red, man what a blast to drive! Post some pic when it comes & enjoy!!

It's on a train and halfway here!!! Maybe this upcoming Friday? I'll be driving home 300+ miles. I'll try and vary the speed before I hit the highway...hate to break a new car in this way. Did I just write that?! I will ENJOY breaking her in this way!

It's at the DEALER!!! I can't get there til Saturday but will fly in and drive home same day! It is beyond words how excited I am. The only thing I can compare it to is as a kid anticipating a trip to Disneyland! Maybe I should make a vanity plate that says ETICKET for those who can relate!
