AlloyDropTop
How many of you are stil running the original clutch that came in your 07-09 cars? If running original, how many miles? I am nearing the end of the 3/36 (although I still condend, but nobody seems to agree, that the flywheel is the causing part of the TSB and thus should be covered to 5/60) and trying to decide what to do. I really want to just leave well enough alone, since mine works good at 6K miles and almost 3 years, but don't want to be stupid either.

shelby111
08 w/ 5500 miles. Still good no plans to change anything. I agree that it should be covered under the 5 year part of the warantee. It would be nice to hear if any of the 07 owners have made a claim after 3 years adn what the dealer did about it?
ingram4868
Only about 5400 miles but it still runs smooth except for the 1-2 shift grind when she is cold. I avoid that by double clutching for the first 5 minutes then it is fine.

moburto07GT500
My 2007 GT500 had 45000 on the original clutch when i replaced it with a Spec twin disc. It was still working great, just noisy. I decided to replace it since i plane on adding more HP later this year or early next year. The Spec is just as noisy as the factory clutch but doesnt really bother me too much.... chuckstang
Guys with original clutches still working I can not urge you enough to leave it alone until it actually breaks. Just look at what I have gone through. On my 5th clutch! Finally is back to the way it should be with the 2010 clutch, but there is too many things that could go wrong if you take outa perfectly good clutch. Poor install, parts defects, I have had some of each. Hey when you have 5 clutches in 10k miles, Ive seen it all

I avoid that by double clutching for the first 5 minutes then it is fine. Mine shifts the smoothest when cold! I get a very noticeable double tap (not grind) once it is warmed up or hot. Does that make any freaking sense! The colder my tranny is the smoother it shifts and this is all gears. This is my only issue, sorta put it on the back burner since I am so happy to have a proper functioning clutch again but obviously a tranny should get smooother with heat not the opposite haha
Keith Lambert
Just turned 20K miles on an '07 with original clutch. My wife's '08 with 7500 miles needs the new flywheel... definitely a slight vibe, so I think it's warped. Keith
Curt A
Guys with original clutches still working I can not urge you enough to leave it alone until it actually breaks. Correct, This is why a have a new one waiting for when I DO have the symptions. I have driven many cars with twin and tripple disc clutches in them. Mine makes all of the correct noises when depressed and releasing NO CHATTER on take off. No hard shifting when cold either. I also have the GM 6 speed oil I'll use when I pull the trans out. texaggie
On my third clutch since new. I have 25,000 miles currently. The first two lasted about 8000 miles each. So I have at least pased the mile markers from the first two. The sad part is that one of the reasons there has never been a recall is because so many of the '07 and '08 buyers never really drive their cars so that there have not been enough break downs to force a recall. (in other words, the odds are your car will break, but your warranty will end due to time before you get enough miles on it to cause failure.) Also, the heat soak into the flywheel has been reported to be a big part of the problem, so it stands to reason that the clutch would work better cold. ScodeT88
I only get chatter every now and then. If my foot slips or is not positioned just right. Same here. More times than most the clutch leaves me scratching my head wondering what the difference is when I take off. This past Saturday it was 97 degrees. Even in the heat of the day I had no issues whatsoever, then other days
