unconfortable seat belts ????

Walmart sells a plastic clip that goes on the lap portion and allows you to adjust the shoulder piece so it will not touch your neck. In an accident the plastic gives way. They were like $4.00 for two.

Yeah I totally agree, that is one of my only complaints about this car. I was wondering if there was something that could be attached to the headrest to keep the shoulder belt at a better angle and off my neck. Something similar to this:

The little plastic things work pretty good, but wear out quick (after a little while they won't stay put) but , yeah the belts cut right across the side of my neck no matter where I put the seat. I would have thought at 5' 10" I was of average height but they sure didn't design them for me.

I had the same problem, and didn't like the little clips from WalMart. If you go to Ford, they will give you a seat belt extender for free. It is an OE quality seat belt segment with a buckle on each end. It moves the shoulder strap over just enough to make it comfortable. And it's FREE!!! It's probably intended for larger people, but I explained the shoulder strap issue, and they ordered me one without hesitation. Only took a couple of days to come in. I'm on my second Mustang, and wouldn't want to do without it.

I'm giving that a try. I thought I was just too short at 5-9 and had to live with the irritating strap across my neck. Thanks :happy feet:

I know you said it's free at the dealer but for $17 I just ordered it online...

I've had the same problem with the belt cutting across my neck. The belts are the only gripe I've got with the car.

Since I have a 2007 SGT, I tried updating the seat belts to the 2008 type. I thought that the small bracket on the 2008 belts would lift the belt off my neck. But that didn't work...

Next I tried the seat belt extender from the dealer. That did move the belt off my neck, but I didn't like the way the belt fit across my torso...

So tomorrow, I guess I'll drive over to Wal-Mart and pick up some of those clips. I sure hope the clips work!
