OK, so which lowering springs????

Recommended Posts

I have seen pics of all types of lowering springs on the 07-09 shelbys, but I cant seem to find a set that will lower the car, but make it level front to back. I hate that raked look. I want the front and rear to be equal between the tire and fender. Anyone have info or pics on which springs can get me there? Thanks in advance.

For the guys with the Eibach kits, what part number did you purchase? Was it the 35115.680 (Pro System Plus)?

And, are the stuts / shocks adjustable?

You're welcome to take a look at mine in person. Just PM me. FRPP lowering springs.

I can also tell you were you can get a good price and install on a set of Eibach Pros.

Thanks BJ. A friend of mine that lives close to me here has the shelby with the FRPP springs, so I have already seen them. I would like to know where to get those eibach pros though for a great price. Shoot me an email.

I ordered the Eibach Pro-Kit. Appears to be # 35115.140.

Did you have to add other suspension items to keep the bumpsteer down, panhard etc?

I just ordered the Eibach Pro-kit, and want to know what else could be required.

Thanks

You'll definitely want to pick up an adjustable panhard bar. I recommend BMR's, part # PHR006. Very easy to install and even easier to adjust. I also installed some camber bolts, but not 100% sure if they were necessary. Some people I talked to said yes, others said no.

Nice looking Shelby!

Are those 18s? or 20?

Also, how does your car ride now as compared to before and after the kit was installed?

details details details!!

Thanks!

They are the 20" Alcoa Super Snake Rims.

The car is much more responsive now that I have it lowered and on 20's, compared to stock height with 18's. Before when I would drive down the road, it felt at times as if the car was "floating", now it feels more planted on the ground.

Has anyone tried Roush rear springs Part #401295? They say it will lower the rear 1" to 1.25". My car seems low enough in the front as is. Would I still need additional parts such as an adjustable panhard bar or adjustable caster plates? I plan to get an alignment either way. ShelbyLt

I have the Roush 401295 rear springs. With a full tank of gas the rear fender lips measure 28 1/2" from the ground and the front measure 28 3/8". There was no change in the axle position on my car. There was a 1/8" difference side to side before and after I installed the springs. I haven't had the alignment checked yet.

Looks sweet. So, I assume you are pleased with your choice? Does it ride fine? ShelbyLt

I'm happy with the Roush rear springs. You can get them for $104 delivered on eBay and they're fairly easy to install. I think they improved the appearance and it rides fine. I didn't notice much change in the ride from stock.

I installed the FRPP M-5300-L springs (on the back only).

I think the car looks much better in stance now, and other Mustang owners who have seen the car now have decided to go the same route.

It seems to have helped a bit with the car hooking up, but difficult to say for sure because of other changes made at the same time.

After installing the rear springs and taking accurate measurements, the differential was offset 4.5mm over to the drivers side.

I picked up an adjustable panhard bar, adjusted it to 4.5mm shorter and installed it, and that centered it perfectly.

I 'm really glad to hear that, since I had ordered mine right before I thought to ask. Thanks for the info. ShelbyLt

I put the roush springs[rear only401295] on my 08 GT500.They brought the rear down 1/4" higher than the front.Seemed to lower it about 1 1/2:".Roush told me they had done several GT500's in their shop with no need for a adj panhard bar or uca.I was happy with the results, the car looked great and no more wheel hop.

I just received the Eibach coil over kit (Super Snake upgrade kit) with the sway bars for mine. Has anyone had any issues with this kit? I also ordered the bump steer kit, caster camber plates and panhard bar w/reinforcement bracket. I will be installing all of it once the panhard bar comes in. Any ride qualty issues?

this is good info......have an '07 SGT right now which sits nice already, but someday when I pick up a GT500, the first thing I plan on doing is lowering the "rear only" to level out the car(cheaply)....does this work for 2010's also???
