THis morning I think the Cali Group was still Sleeping at the Motel as I drove by.

I noticed a deer running around my next door neighbors place this morning and snapped a pic.

We will post all our Pic's here in the coming days.

The party is just getting ready to start. happy%20feet.gif

All:

Bad or good weather, this gathering for me was about one thing for me...honoring our fallen hero. I am putting together a movie that illustrates that very thing. Yes, we had some bad luck...as the co pilot and I drove in, we nearly hit a family of baby ducks (Brembo's really did the trick) but someone else did hit a mother and a baby, My wife moved the dead ducks off to the side of the road thinking that the babies would wonder into the road again looking for their mother. As noted in another thread, one of the participants had a serious accident when a drunk driver pulled out in front of them. And in a not so serious incident, I ran over a small rodent crossing the road on the cruise.

All that said, the service that Rob orchestrated was beautiful. I am sure there was not a dry eye in the group.

Very well done Rob and Tana. Pic's and video will follow....

Nice photos, we didn't take many.

I want to apologize to the two cars that had to follow my slow butt down the hill after the accident scene. I kept seeing in my mind's eye some plonker pulling out in front of us and killing the KR (and my wife).

I can't tell you all how proud I am to be associated with this event. The tribute to HISS was very well planned and executed. All of you out there need to plan on attending one of these gatherings here in the NW before you get too old to enjoy it. Rob and Tana put on a hell of a show...

My pic's are just about done loading and I will start posting some of them.

I know I can't top what my son has posted. My son David helped with so many things this year again. I'm very proud of my son.

Check out his new thread when you get a chance:

It was nice to put a face to the names on here and hopefully you will all make it to the mustang round up in august. What a day of mixed emotions. Great fun at my first Shelby meet, but sombering to think of Mark and the other heros we've lost. Then a fun drive that ended with a scary reminder that no matter how careful we are, there's always something out there that can jump out and bite us.

Thanks to all those responsible for making the event such a success!

Here are some of the pictures I took:

Joker had to figure out what was wrong with his car. I’m glad I had the tools he needed. It turned out he had to replace a bad plug. Alex was a big help trouble shooting this problem and getting it repaired.

The rain has just hammered my place in the last 2 weeks and the field never drid out, so we had a “block party” and parked everyone around the perimeter of my 1 acre lot. I did not want people getting all dirty or their cars sinking in the swale as they entered the field.

Hisssss’s wife Barbie showed arrived with his car and cleaned it up and put a memorial display up in honor of her husband that was killed protecting our freedom. She’s a real trooper. I had her park her car in the center of the driveway as our feature car.
