Shifting in Shelby 2010

Recommended Posts

I want to ask about the shifting in the Shelby 2010

Because when I shift from 1 to 2 and I remove my foot from the clutch it jumps

A little so I tried to remov my foot slowly from the clutch it become ok

But is there no other way to shift it right and fast

Another question is it ok if I want to speed up like I am racing

For example if I am in 5 gear and I change it to 4 gear and pressed on the petrol paddle

Or there is an another safe why for the clutch

WOW!! UAE welcome to shelby forum, gas is cheaper there right? When shfiting., make sure the clutch is all the way in, to the floor, otherwise may get some chatter/grinding.Sounds like you may be "dumping" the clutch. You may want to keep your foot on the clutch as its coming back up for a little bit--youll feel it engage. If youre going at fullthrottle when making your shift, pull very hard on the shifter and try to shift at least at 5000rpm--as you get better at shufting, you can shift at 5800rpm without hitting the rev limiter.

on downshifting eg 5ht to 4th or even to 3rd,again dont just dump the clutch, let it up and feel that its engaging, if the car feels like its going to overev, probally means you went in 2nd rather than 4th--youll hear the engine and feel like youre going to stop---push the clutch back in and make sure its in 4th.Once you know its in gear, just floor the as pedal.Youll get better with practice, and achiev a feel for the clutch--the one thing is make sure you fully depress the clutch. Post some pics of your car in UAE if you can

well, the real question is,why are you drivng in 5th--you can go up to 120 in 4th.I drive around town here in Atlanta in 3rd mostly, and highways 4th.Leave it in 4th,and when you run out of gear, put it in 5th..On your question, if you drop from 5th to 4th, the cars rpms will rise up, and the trannys gearing will change, making you feel like you have more power---its definitley quicker in 4th than 5th for sure

ps, checked your gallery and didnt see any images

I am pretty sure that I post it their black with silver stripes

Up in 120 mile or kilo because here in uae we use kilo meter

But I think if I leave it at 4th gear it will increase the use of petrol I have to let

It in the lowest revelation

Man--if youre worried about gas mileage you bought the wrong car--this car is all about speed, power and quickness, gas mileage is "inshalla bukarah"---

Hello, From my experience, When you go from 1st to 2nd in a aggressive shift, the car will lurch forward and pull naturally. If It feels like the car is popping forward like a moment of stall then engages, then you are disengaging the clutch faster than you are giving it gas. If popping is the case then while the clutch is fully disengaged or all the way to the floor, try feeling it engage for a split second before releasing it fully. As far as shifting down from 5th to 4th for more power, I would think that you would only being doing that to maintain power and speed while needing to go through a turn. If you are doing that on a straight away, then you might be shifting too fast out of the power band when moving up the gears. Last, 3500 and 4000 rpm should not be a problem. I enjoy driving between the gears at 4000 to 5500 rpms when I'm having fun. Good luck and enjoy the ride. :shift:

I am sick off changing my color in the car and the setting

Do you know how to let the hd lamp turned on soon as you open your car with the remote key

When you walking far away if you know what I am saying

UAE, with respect to your question about your headlamps, I recommend that you read your owner's manual for information on how to set that feature on your car. With respect to your questions about shifting the car, watch this video. It may not be the perfect video to show/tell you the best way to shift/drive your car, but because of the language challenges, it might be better for you to see a video of someone driving a 2010 GT500 rather than us trying to explain it in text here.
