We have agreed on a price with the dealer, We asked them about the Extended warranty and were quoted.......................1070 to extend warranty to 5/75 from 3/36.................and $1210 to extend to 6/75.....................bumper to bumper

What is your experience with previous shelbys, 2010 models or other , is it something we should consider, and why? any info is appreciated.

When I first purchased my 2008 GT500 I purchased the extended warranty. The next day they gave me my money back and said they weren't allowed to offer an extended warranty on the Shelby GT500 because the parts were more expensive. I'd make sure the dealership knows what they're talking about before you write that check.

Depends on how hard you drive and if you think you'll put that many miles on it by then....and also if you are planning on modding it.

I took the 7yr/100K extended on my 2010 GT500 Vert. I paid $1230 for it, and I believe it will be worth every penny.

I drive this car regularly, have about 10K miles on it since i took delivery last July.

I think you need the Extended, these cars have WAY TOO MANY complex parts/assemblies

i have extended warrantys on all my cars--and my experience is its worth it-I keep cars a long time, under warranty and in 2 cases in the last year, a GPS went out (3000) and a computer ($4000--Jaguar)--so its worth it.I got the longest i could when i bought mine. One thing you might check is possibly buying it from a less expensive dealer---i know for GM any dealer cann sell the extended warranty--i bought mine for the shelby from MM,who sold me the car.But you might check on the web on cometetive pricing--i also know its cheaper to get it anytime during the 1st year,so thers no great hurry to finalize the deal
