rush_junky
Here are a couple of pictures of the S197 concept. I wish these taillights would've come on the Shelby. If an aftermarket trunk and light kit was available, I would strongly consider it. What do you guys think?

JeffIsHereToo
It's ok. An aftermarket though would require some MAJOR body work.

dh777
With the 2010 and 2011 lights being LED, I really thought they would do something like that on the GT350 to clean it up. With LED lights you don't need as much room to do the modifications since you don't need huge reflector bodies.
mikewheels
It would be easy to do using L.E.D. lights and can be done with no permanent mod to the car. I've been working on a set-up for a while but it's still in the early stages.

texaggie
That would require a whole new rear end and trunk lid. I do think it looks very clean in the rendering. Just curious if it would actually look the same up close on a real car or if the lights would end up looking too overpowering for the rest of the back. Again, interesting idea though. For me, that's a home rum. Man, I wish Shelby would ask the buying public their input. - Doc

I agree...the SGT would've looked nice with a different set of rear lights to help distinquish it from the GT. Heck, SA did this in 1967 on the GT350/GT500...Maybe all the NHTSB requirements were a possible obsticle for change...
LGSchmidtJr
Rush the concept car reminds me of the Iacocca 45th anniv Mustang, althought it doesn't have the same tail light treatment.... and I do like the way the exhaust exits through the rear valance. Laurence One cool feature of the Iacocca is it's a true fastback/hatchback; at least that's what I heard. The window extends nearly to the end like the 67/67 fastbacks. In any case, it's way too much money !!!
TRGriff
The idea of different tail lights is all cool stuff. However, I’m looking for sequential tail lights. I haven’t found any after market ones that do not sequence once during braking. I looked at the new 2010 Mustang set up. To buy all the components would be way too expensive. The sequential tail lights on the 2010 Mustang do not sequence when braking. Has anyone found any after market tails lights that do not sequence during braking? Safe driving to all, keep the rubber side down. Tom
ilmor
I think Shelby should have used a different taillamp design also. but I wouldn't mod my car that way. The Shelby GT is still gorgeous as is.

MaxCustody
Although I like those taillights, I believe that the Shelby GT is a modern interpretation of the original 65 and 66 shelby which had the regular Mustang taillights. You can see the DNA of the original in our cars. Not really sure why they did not call it the GT 350. I think the newer GT350s and GT500s are more like the 67 and 68 years.
