JeffJ
I finally got some time today to install the GT500 Brembo take offs that I got some time ago. I also installed Earls braided steel brake lines all around. I have some Hawk racing brake pads which are made for the Brembos, but I couldn't get them to fit in the calipers. I'll try that again some other day. I also have the FRPP Hot Rod cams to get in. Hopefully here in a couple weeks. Then she needs a good tune at this altitude to make sure that the performance is maxed. For now, here's the brakes:
HARALD KELLEY
Looking good. I am thinking of getting the some take offs also. I may just get the calipers and buy new slotted and drilled rotors. However, for now my brake set up is OK. Can you tell the difference on the street?
tispco
The Brembos look good! My convertible has GT500 Brembos with slotted / drilled rotors. Both the convertible and GT-H have the same brake pads and slotted / drilled rotors, but the convertible has stickier tires (Eagle F1 vs BFG G-force). I can tell the difference between the two on the street, but it is subtle. The convertible has more bite and seems to slow faster than the GT-H. If you really have to step on it, the convertible definitely seems like it is coming to a stop faster. I think for the street, the biggest improvement is probably cosmetic. JeffJ
Here it is ready for an Autocross event with BFG R1's, Mustang Challenge take offs. They actually stick very well.
