cobrakalas427
Sorry to hear it. Wonder how they plan to register it...... I'm sure the car is probably slated to be chopped up...original, individual parts are worth lots of $$$....
Michael Morris
In GA you dont need a title! If the car stays here you could take a BILL OF SALE to the tag office and get a tag!!! Problems for the THIEF is going to be when the CSM number comes up. EVERYONE is going to know its stolen!! MM
Akos (AJ)
Bummer! Is there the death penalty for car-thieves in GA? There should be....
robertlane
Were Shelby Mustangs available with lower rocker trim in 1968? This one looks like it had one.
John Canfield
A good question, Robert. They were, and if you have a copy of Tom Corcorans 'Shelby Mustang' from Motorbooks Muscle Car Color Histroy, all of the '68s shown in there have the lower rocker trim. philip murphy
Yes Robert ALL 68 Shelbys "should" have rocker moldings and wheel opening moldings. That is how there were delivered. The 68 you posted without rocker moldings is an owner modification . It does make it look cleaner
gth0007
This car was Stolen TONIGHT If anyone sees this car on a red open trailer with nebraska plates please contact owner at mustang559@hotmail.com 402-380-0692 Thefts like this are very unusual but in this economy the thieves have gotten very bold. Some things to think about: Has the Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) been notified ? Mustang Club of America also, maybe contact Dynacorp (makes complete new 68 bodies) and put them on notice for sales in the SE U.S., watch Craig's list postings, keep checking Ebay for parts being sold, make some flyers and post them all over your neighborhood, do an internet search for nearby storage areas and do drive bys, make sure the police entered the VIN correctly in NCIC (National Crime Information Center), have the police list the CSM plate / number as stolen in the NCIC "Article File", ask the police if any car trailers have been reported stolen recently, call the police at least once a week asking for updates (do not let them blow you off), attend any auto show / auto flea market and check for your parts / pass out stolen car flyers with Reward info, post theft flyers at local auto parts stores and body shops , in summary do a "full court press". The police will rarely do anything (short of manpower is the common excuse) so keep the pressure on and the more eyes looking for your car will help in the slim chance of recovery. The most important thing is to make sure the police listed the VIN correctly. I would recommend having the police show you the NCIC printout showing the "stolen" car notice, do not take their word for it. Adding the CSM plate is also important, and don't let the police tell you it can't be done, int CAN. An finally, I would lobby your local State Representative and get Georgia's "no title" law on older cars changed. Sorry for being "wordy" but my thoughts are that if anything helps, then car enthusiasts should offer suggestions, regards, Larry
