alaska
We live in a small 30,000 population town outside Anchorage I drove my 13 year old daughter and her friend today to the skate park in the Shelby and dropped them off for an hour and went for a drive, on the way back I picked them up and they were upset and said a guy parked in the lot had asked them if they had any weed he could buy, they told him no they didn't do that so he parked and said he would just wait, well of course I went into overload drove over to his vehicle and parked behind him, this kid was about 23 years old and in the military, I approached his vehicle his window was about 6 inches down I asked him to roll his window down so I could talk to him, he refused so I asked what the hell he was doing asking 13 year old girls for weed he didn't respond, I asked him again to roll his window down he refused so I advised in colorful language if I saw him again in the area I would pull his ass out of his car and beat the crap out of him. He must have got the message because his eyes were as big as dinner plates as he sped back and came within inches of hitting the car and sped off. I did get the plate and informed the local PD and the military Police hopefully they will let his commander no he's trying to buy weed from 13 year old girls. Burning Blue Star IV
WOW! I don't know man....people these days...if I had kids, I wouldn't let them alone anywhere. It's tough, I know...you shouldn't go through life fearing everything that "might" happen. But I find myself leaning towards that perspective more and more every day. You can't trust anyone. You mentioned that the guy was in the military, I've always respected military people as a whole..but I've learned that there are good and bad people in every walk of life...and just because someone is a doctor or policeman or military person doesn't mean that they are a honorable person. I'd be super careful about approaching cars like that...you never know if someone will just shoot you for basically no reason. I always call the police and let them take care of it. But I completely understand the heat of the moment thing in wanting to get a message through to this person. I sure hope they track him down...and he stays the heck away from kids. Glad you took the action you did. We're all becoming sheep in this society and I'd have done the same thing. Sends a mesage to the A-hole. Worth the risk, in my opinion. Glad you didn't just let it slide. The criminals of the world like to depend on our being docile, shy and non-confrontational. Give yourself a pat on the back! SmellSoGood
This gets me mad. There was none of this growing up in NJ. I rode my sisters crotchless 10 speed to deliver newspapers after school and then to pay the guy in the car once per week on some side street. I rode my Huffy without helmet, drank water from garden hoses along the way, and played Midnight and Laser Tag outside with friends until 10pm without supervision. My 3.5 year old today will never have this freedom and security. Ice skate park in May? Had to ask.
Son of GT
You should have told the puke that if he did not roll the window down, you would reenact his birth by grabbing his head and pulling him through the 6 inches of window that was open. alaska
Thanks everyone I was also in the military for 8 years of service and yes there are good and bad in every profession I respect the military to the up most as I have nephews serving I think I gave the kid a good scare maybe he will think twice. It pissed me off that he scared my little girl and Blue your right he could have pulled a gun as people today are cowards and would rather settle things with a gun, I will try to remember next time but if it happened again I would probably do the same, my dad was a logger and I was raised on hard work, principals, stand up for what you believe and a hand shake is your word, there were plenty of times I got my ass wiped by the old man but not one that I never deserved. I think this is the problem with our society no discipline.
SGT/SC#0471
Id bet his CO is going to have his butt the next time he sees him. The military due to a need for more people has been admitting all sorts even known gang members allegedly from an article I read. Right on, I believe that the direct approach is the best. Especially when kids or old people are involved. Latley I have had people ignoring the NO SOLICITORS sign on my house and the 80 year old womans house next door....our local neighborhood blog has been reporting people casing houses this way... They won't come back to mine or the neighbors after the talk I give them after I answer the door. Why not check back with the MP and see what the follow up was if you want to nail this creep. Cheers! and glad he missed your car.

tdusseau
A move like that here is Atlanta will lead to gunfire, and that is not a "could have" it is a "will be". Unless of course you have the drop on him. Nothing like the handle of my sidearm sitting in my holster right on my hip, to get the "take that shit elseware" point across. Sounds harsh, but I have had many calls where the person walked up to the wrong car with the wrong attitude and then all hell broke loose. And someone that is that bold to sit in the same public spot after being turned down. That to me sends up a big red flag. Would I have done the same...HELL YES. Just would have had my .40cal friend riding with me and in very obvious site. And before any of you ANTI gun owners decide to pop off about my point of view.....Please note....I DON'T CARE!!!!. I can, I will, and I do carry. Fact is fact

2010KonaBlueGT
Please don't "show" your gun in Florida, you will go to jail......OK to carry concealed if you have permit....... There is something similar in CO I just found out the other day (ironically, with aggressive door-to-door solicitors). I can carry a (loaded) gun concealed with a CCW permit. I can carry a (loaded) gun in the open without a CCW permit. As soon as I lift my shirt to "display" my concealed gun, it becomes Felony Menacing. HUH? So when the little f*ck*er says "What gun? I don't see no gun" and you "display" it, it becomes a felony. So just make sure you walk up to the POS with it already in the open, CCW or not. tdusseau
I don't get it? You gonna shoot some dummy for trying to buy some weed? First of all NEVER said anything about shooting anyone. Please read all post. 2nd I am licensed to cary. 3rd It is not brandishing if it is already out. 4th In holster, not in hand, nor being used in any threatening way what so ever. 5th. I was saying is if you are going to approach a strange car/person/building where you have full knowlage of an illegal act has already taken place. Then you better be one of two things. Ready to accept what may or may not happen to you. OR be prepared to defend yourself if things take a turn for the worst. I know everyone lives in a different place/community/lifestyle. But growing up on the south side of Detroit and now working in public safety in the City of Atlanta. I know first hand what can happen when GOOD people try to do what they think is the right thing. I know this can be viewed many different ways. So to each his own. I for one have seen the end result when situations like this don't go exactly as planned. So just be careful. 09KR0058
Its hard to fathom how stupid that guy is. Obviously in the military, and asking young girls for weed? WTF??? My son the Jarhead, is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. They all had leave canceled last weekend due to some idiot who got caught smoking weed ON THE BASE. Yes, I said ON THE FREEKIN BASE!!! All leaves canceled and 5:30am formations, and probably drug tested every battalion. Waiting to hear the details on what happened to that idiot. Hopefully, a couple of years busting rocks, then a dishonorable discharge. BTW, +1 to you Todd! I seldom go anywhere without my gat. Hope to never have to use it, but around metro Atlanta, you need to be packin!
Son of GT
I guess that I'm seeing this situtation differently, but if a man who is over 18 years of age approaches 13 YO girls in a public park asking them for weed, I'm thinking that the guy really does not give a crap about getting weed, and is more than likely a predatory child molester, soldier or not. Generally speaking, if someone is looking for drugs/weed, they tend to cruse neighborhoods that have residents who will cater to that clientele, and if that park is known for drug sales/use, then I would certinally keep kids away from there until the police can clean it up. Maybe I've lived in the "big city" too long and have become overly cynical, but that how I see what was going on with this looser.

alaska
Thanks for all the response, I called back to the MP station to find out if it was reported to his commander but the desk SGT on duty was not sure I have to call back in the AM to find out and they did run his plate that night but he lives of post seams he is married with and I did see a baby seat in the back of the car.
