Pirelli PZero Trofeo

Recommended Posts

I am going to widen my rear wheels and put some real rubber on them. I think I'm going to go to 305s, so originally I thought of either Toyo or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. However, I found the Pirelli PZero Trofeo that looks like it will fit. Anyone have any experience with this? I have always been extremely happy with Pirelli tires on my other cars.

I've had 305 Pzeros on my 20x10" wheels and liked them A LOT better than the stock tires. I got over 10k miles out of them too. I just switched the rears out for some Nitto 555r's, but I've still got the Pzeros up front and they've got a bunch of tread left.

These are supposed to be amazing tires but...

I have not been able to find these anywhere. My Pzeros are about dust.

I cannot find them either, although I haven't been looking very hard yet. I think they are standard on a lot of the new Porsches, including the GT2 and GT3, so they are out there somewhere.

They are listed on the Pirelli website as one of their motorsports tires. Looks like they may have a special dealer network that sells them. Or, since they're so new, maybe they just haven't gotten to any regular outlets yet. I'd like to see an independent road test of the tire before I commit to it although it looks great. They are marketing it as a track tire, not as a street tire. Looks like it comes in all the right sizes. I'm thinking about going to a 295 on the rears-have heard from some others that bumping up a bit wider than recommended for the rim (only half an inch) creates no serious problem and you get the benefit of some extra rubber on the road. Want to keep my stock rims and don't want to get into the widening process if I can avoid it. I'm also checking out the Yokohama Advan Neova 08. It's also a new tire and the reviews have been great and it comes in all the right sizes.
