CSY
I quess they dropped the interior road noise by 20%+ in the 2011s. I'm thinking they added some type of sound proofing material to the top of rear tire wells because when I go down my dirt driveway I can really hear the dirt and pebbles coming from there, really loud sand sound and pebbles pinging, and I crawl slowly down the driveway. Also, none of my other cars sound like this. Any thoughts on this? Do you think us guys with the 2010's could add the same sound proofing?

Slabo
I think part of the reason was the weight reduction. Allowed them to add some weight back with more sound proofing.
03reptile
I'm going to undercoat my ride this summer. I can't stand the noise anymore I would strongly counsel against using any oil based undercoat spray on your car. It eventually hardens, will seperate from the body metal and cause gaps/pockets. Then moisture gets in and you've got a big rust problem. Undercoating ruined my BMW 2002 and I had to replace all the fenders. I used Dynamatt (sp?) sound deadening material on my 07 GT500. I pulled the rear seat, back, and placed it over the areas of concern. Also put it in trunk area. Its a little expensive but makes a big difference in interior quietness. I don't have to worry about rust. Many others on the forums have used it with success.

I used some in my 'transmission tunnel" to cut the noise.

I then noticed they have another product that is $76 bucks a can that claims to do the same thing...but better. http://www.shop3m.com/60980044949.html?WT.z_xsell=1&WT.z_refSKU=60440096497
BlackSunShin3
I think I pay like 9 bucks a can, but that was some years ago. Used like 6 cars to do the all underside of the car
