BB KoncepZ
in the next few weeks, my 2010 shout be about done with its first phase of mods....ported blower, upper.lower, tb/plenum, full exh., etc...so somewhere in the 600rwhp area.... the car is a weekend street car and still has the factory rollin stock for now...hope to either go to a 20" custom wheel with drag radial rears or i may step down to a set of factory 18" wheels off a vert so i can run a drag radial. with that being said...for all of those that have made gear swaps, would it be worth it to go from a 3.55 to a 3.73 or should i just leave it be??? kahmann
3.73 is the perfect all around gear IMO. Is it worth the cost to you? Couldn't tell ya. I think 3.55's are decent with the 5 speed, but with that 6 speed, I'd definitely go to a 3.73. Good luck
65427cobra
I would not make the swap. There is not that much to be gained to moving to 3:73s from 3:55 and when you factor in the expense and the chance that the new gears will whine I definitley would not do it. I swapped gears on my 2007 GT500 and had nothing but issues....I am on my third set of gears and the whine still drives me nuts.
bpmurr
As you add power you'd probably be better off with the 3.55s.
jmn444
I love the 3.55's personally...
ingram4868
You may wish to do some rear suspension mods before adding anymore HP or rear axle torque.
1badshelby
But if you do it, I'll take the 3:55's off your hands! Mike
SVTpower
at your hp level, I wouldn't..............if I were to do it again at my hp level now, I'd go 3:55's ...........now it also depends on tire heights you plan to do.
BB KoncepZ
the suspension will be done with in the next few weeks. also plan on a one piece driveshaft. but by the end of the year, the car should make 650+ rwhp...either whipple or kb... dont know if i will keep the 19s or not but i wouldnt like to step down to an 18 or go to a 20 inch custom wheel so the tire size might change a little.... i may just wait on the gears to see how i like it with the higher power level. my 04 cobra made 660 to the tire and it had 3.55s...but it needed 3.73s in my opinion... 2011GT500BRISVTPack
I had an 08 Bullitt and an 07 GT500 and wanted to change to the 3.73 in the 500 because thats what the Bullitt came with but then I heard the 2011 GT500 was coming out with the 3.73's so I traded them in for the 2011 with the SVT pack and love the difference. Cobra1832
Correct me if I am wrong but on the SVT PP aren't the 3.73's simply to compensate for the larger rear wheel and tire combo. I wonder if what you are feeling is the added torque In the lower rpms for the 2011.
texaggie
I have the 3.73s in mine and have nowhere near the power output yours will, but I have to say that I love them. No gear whine here. Hell I even managed a little burn yesterday going into 3rd while getting onto the highway. And that is with 18 x 10 FR500 wheels and Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position tires with only 2000 miles on them.

2011GT500BRISVTPack
I just went over 400 miles so the car isn't close to getting broke in but the tires are doing great so far. They feel sticky I just hope that doesn't mean that they will be gone through in about 5,000 miles. I will be putting up some pics of the car within the week. GOTVENOMGT500
The dealer in the next town over from me just took deliver of their first 2011 GT500 Race Red White SVT package stripes. The rear end on it was painted. Only the axel weights were rusted but someone here mentioned it was pretty easy to remove them with one bolt, paint then reattach. Also took a shot of the new rear diff plate, looks like it should really help with cooling I'll see if I can upload the pic
