ITHERTZ66
Wow, this forum looks a bit dead as of late. A sweet low mileage (around 6K miles) 06 advertised in perfect condition failed to bid into the $28K range over the weekend. Is the 06 Hertz interest a thing of the past? I am still looking for a reasonably priced clean '06, but many who are selling still think it is the year 2007 or they think it's 2047..... With the 5.0 out now, the GT-H can't hold a candle to the new stang performance wise and may even get beat by a new V6 by a good driver in just about any contest (except coolness of course!) So what's going on here?
SicShelby
I guess the nostalgia of the GT-H is more than the new regular Mustang can handle.

So what's going on here? Are you talking about the one that was on ebay? I think that same car was bid up to over 40K last time it was listed and did not hit the reserve, if you're talking about the same one. Same bidders probably know that the guy is asking to much so why bid? You can't really judge the market by what a car with a reserve on it gets up to once it's been listed more than once. If that car didn't have a reserve on it, then you may see a real market price. There was a 32K mile one that sold a few weeks ago for $29K, so the market appears to be pretty stable from where it was a year ago. Hard to say if it will drop any more, stablize, or go up. Just have to see I guess.

Ebay is a very inexpensive way to reach a large audience, so many sellers float "trial balloon" Reserve prices in hopes of either catching a market increase OR snag an un-knowledgable buyer. Plus many higher Reserve cars are sold following the auction end to bidders who failed to make the Reserve. This is cheaper for the Seller as he/she doesn't have to pay the Ebay Final Value fee. The pricing on 2006 GTH Coupes has held pretty steady during this economic slump, unlike most other cars. The 2006 GTH listed recently on Ebay was a very very low mileage car so I would suspect a high Reserve, probably correctly. Larry
jgib627
Hi all : I agree that the 06 GT-H blog had been a little quiet of late... but I'm putting it down to the fact that there is only a lucky 500 of us, so there is of course far less people to be blogging... The price you have to pay for exclusivity I guess... ;-) JGIB

shelbymotorsports
I believe there is less then 500 , I read somewhere there were only 300 and change to make it to the auction block, don't know if it is true, and I do not know how to find out The SAI Registry is working on how many Hertz cars made it out of rental car duty. From what I recall off the top of my head is that the Hertz cars were well below the average "loss" rate for rental cars. That only makes sense when you consider the daily rental rate and rental restrictions placed on them. Our best guess until all the numbers are crunched is that over 450 cars survived rental car duty. Now that doesn't mean that 50 of them were wrecked as you must consider that at least 10 of them were never put into rental service so Hertz never had 500 cars in rental service to start with. Stay tuned as the SAI registry may have some good info coming from Hertz on these cars. Steve
