SGT/SC#0471
No specifically the one that I think "Jeff is Here" deleted concerning a few miscreants giving Mac a ration and/or a reality check ( I never read the whole thread as I was answering a PM from another member clicked back and it was gone) about his claimed power output... Anyone who has been on the forum for awhile knows Mac as one of his first posts was his Name Phone Number and Address, I think he can take criticism. He is a retired Chicago Cop. And openly told anyone where to complain to directly awhile ago... There were a few "experts" saying what they "knew"... And Shadowlands explained that he was a World Champion driver and had campaigned a (edit) NITRO 5 second dragster, which I would love to see a picture of....I love dragsters and got to do 3 passes with instruction once at a drag school. (So did my wife...and she drove better than fully 85% of the class...girl can drive) It was the usual BS but had some good ideas in it and then POOF DELETED.... Thanks to whoever did that we can resume the "sequential thread" "the sexystang thread" (no offense to SS just not relevant to me and my Shelby) and the ever popular "no topic thread". In fact if I finish my sequentials today I will post a vid in whoever deleted its honor.... Cheers!

Ill look and see if its around MM Thanks MM, BTW I dropped off/helped a friend in my SGT/SC who bought a Ford Focus SES (ad car) yesterday and the sales men asked what kind of Shelby is that? Haha funny, I am glad you are on here...makes me have faith....These guys had been selling Fords for a long time if you believe them and they knew NOTHING about the SGT's except "yeah we had a couple of them awhile ago 'enthusiasts car' " I offered to smoke anything on the lot for a C note, GM would not go for it haha! Thier board was at 50+ cars for May so far made me happy that Ford is doing well.... funny stuff...

jmn444
JeffIsHereToo has just posted a reply to a topic that you have subscribed to titled "Word on the street is that Lulu has new found". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OK...I can see this is now we're going round and round about people, personalities, and motivations, with a little innuendo and name calling thrown in for good measure I think I'll give us all some time to pause and reflect. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The topic can be found here: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56336&view=getnewpost
JeffIsHereToo
The thread has not been deleted but hidden while everyone cools off. I asked over and over, publicly and privately, for people to stay on the topic. I stated I didn't even want to lock the thread! However after leaving things to run their course for a day it became clear this was a bash Mac thread and my requests were going to be ignored. in the end this is the "Mod/Tech" forum NOT the "Insult/Accuse" Forum and when it was clear the conversation was no longer about debating the car but attacking the person conversation I felt it was time to act before things REALLY got out of control. The last few posts where nothing but a widening circle of accusations on both sides so I choose to give it a break. Don't say you have to agree with me but that was my call, and no one else's, so I'm happy to take any blowback for it. I've been here for almost 4 years and pretty proud of the fact I can count on one hand the number of threads that I have hidden over those years but that's more of a credit to the great bunch of people we have here than to any restraint by me and I for one don't want to see the family nature of this place change. Thanks.

SGT/SC#0471
Thanks Jeff, I have been here 3 months longer than you and the nature of the website changed dramatically IMO after it changed to Team Shelby. I am glad you explained, in the future if SA wants my $50 a year the moderators should offer an explanation of why when I am in the middle of reading a thread and stop to answer a PM, it gets disappeared... You protecting Mac from insults is hilarious, the guy posted his own dang address and phone number and invited anyone to call him or stop by if they disagreed with him. That is why I remember him in part. Remember when the forums became "cop talk"???? Mac was in there leading the charge, everything was about "perps" and "the job" etc... Now that it's about ACTUAL engine building and builders you hide it...sorry but I disagree with your choice, and if you decide to do this again would you please post something to explain what you did so that I can avoid the drama of WTF.... Thanks....and Shelby on Dude!

JeffIsHereToo
You protecting Mac from insults is hilarious, the guy posted his own dang address and phone number and invited anyone to call him or stop by if they disagreed with him. That is why I remember him in part. PLEASE don't misunderstand! I am not protecting Mac nor did I hide the thread due to the debate, what was said about his claims, or the car. It was HOW the debate was conducted which was through the use of personal attacks, not only directed at Mac but others as well, that moved me to hide the thread. Again, it's not about refuting or debating the claims made! We're all about vigorous debate but conducted in an open and honest way that doesn't seek to eviscerate people less no one posts for fear of what they might get back in return. That said, make no mistake, this is a group of individuals that came over here to Team Shelby and registered SPECIFICALLY to post to that thread. While I won't claim to understand their motivation I got a PM message from a member to look at the thread on the web site where these individuals came from where I saw they were reporting back on their efforts here and what I read is just not what we're about. It's too bad because it seems that SD, and the others, have some GREAT insights and info so I would urge them to channel their efforts, at least here, to helping and not attacking people. Michael Morris
I agree with Jeff on this one. I never claimed to know HALF of what these guys know about the 4.6L. I really believe they are VERY knowledgable on the engine! But it was turning into the same thing the political threads turned into. They became " I dont agree with you because of this", "Well I dont agree with you because of this and your stink", " Well I still dont agree with you and you stink and your ugly'!!! Goes from debating to name calling! Its just silly! I think the thread needs to be put back up in a few days, but its not my call. Folks did need to calm down some. You wouldn't want anyone to expose the "Polyanna" that you all have created for the truth. stkjock and joedls, we are members of, and post to, a club owned forum that has rules, and those rules have to be guarded by other members with moderator capabilities. Whose gonna do it? You? SD? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for the hidden thread and defend those that posted the remarks, while you curse the moderators that hid them. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That the hiding of that thread, while tragic, probably saved a lot of anger and frustration for many. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at car shows, you want me moderating these threads, you need me moderating these threads. At Team Shelby we use words like respect, civility, friendship. We use these words as the backbone of a on-line existence spent sharing a love for the cars. Over in the other site it seems many use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a poster that only days ago registered just to stir things up, yet who rises and sleeps under the blanket of civility that Mods provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up your mouse, and help keep things moving in the spirit of friendship. LuLu
For the record... I did not ask anyone to delete the subject thread. I did not complain to the managers, or, moderators at TS, and no one took any actions here by my request. I admit that I am pleased that the subject thread is gone, and I hope it stays gone. I feel this way because of how the subject thread (an innocent question with an honest answer) went south and turned into a hate festival focused on me, rather than the success and/or failure of my efforts to build LuLu to my liking. I am truely sorry for the disruption this topic has caused here at TS, but I corrected my errors and never intended to decieve anyone. I do not feel I have. I welcome open debates that intend to seek out truth, but name-calling and personal attacks serve only to distract from that truth, an intentional path very effective in some hands. Therefore... I am H.A. (Mac) Mc Carthy I live in Chicago, Illinois, southside, near Oak Lawn I can be reached at 312.401.1396 Any SGT owner registered here at TS who lives in the Chicagoland area is invited to inspect LuLu to confirm her status, and report back here in their own words. I have nothing to hide, call me and we will work out a mutually conveinent date and time.

ShadowLands
The website does not say jackschott about a Nitromethane Dragster Jeff. He has a S197 running 497 RWHP and can drive it...not quite what he said... This is the reason I tend to avoid car guys in general EGO's suck...especially for one who likes the teachings of the Buddah... Anyone wanna race on a track with thier street car let me know I'm there win or lose.... To lose is to win, to win is to lose. Truth is truth. Sorry to disappoint. The dragster in question was owned by my uncle and his partner. I was licensed in that car back in '94 after having a short stint behind the wheel of their alcohol funny car. The funny car was an evil bitch so it was sold. The "next big thing" at that time was the A/FD combination. The car was purchased in '93 and debuted at the last Division 4 race of that season. Over the winter I was able to get my licensed changed over to the dragster. The partner drove the car in '94 and decided he wanted to concentrate on tuning for '95. I drove the car at four national events and five divisional races. We did "ok" with the car but never quite had the money necessary to seriously lean on it. We managed to get a handle on the car at Dallas and I rang up a 5.47 at 268 mph. We also mashed every bearing in the engine along with bending six of eight rods. At the end of the season we examined the pile of useless aluminum and the very low dollar amount left in the budget. Decision was made to park the car for a while and regroup. "Regroup" never happened and everything was sold in late '98. Most of the pictures of the car are stashed away in my uncles house. Honestly....I don't have any. Never really worried about it either. You have to understand this was the mid-90's and nobody had digital cameras back then. Internet was, well.....you know. I come from a long line of RACERS. We race. We don't always take 600 pictures of what we're doing to show the entire planet. Most of the time I refuse to show the planet what I'm building. I'm a little secretive about some things. If that doesn't measure up to your "standards" here on the internet.......oh well. You need a resume? Ok.....I did my first solo engine build at age 12. A 351 Cleveland. I learned to build hydraulic hoses at age 10. I grew up in one of the biggest auto/industrial parts supply houses in the Houston area. The people I grew up around due to my father's racing reads like a "Who's Who" of Modified Production-Competition Eliminator-Super Stock-Stock Eliminator racing. When my friends were bolting on "fats & skinnies" in high school I was adjusting valves or setting the clutch on seven second Comp cars. Ported my first set of heads at age 14. Learned to operate a flow bench at 15. Learned to machine an engine at 15. Since the first engine at age 12 I have built over 200 engines....pushrod and modular combined. Built five complete race cars from the ground up. Probably 10-12 street cars in various stages. Started designing my own camshafts at age 21. First pass down a dragstrip was at 16 in a 10 second 1969 4 speed 428 SCJ Mustang running SS/D. I also owned my own engine building business for a few years but went back to engineering work in the Houston oil/gas industry. Trust me.....it pays better. The website is strictly to promote my current operation with my twin turbo Mustang and the sponsors that promote it. I didn't want to clutter it with past cars and past exploits. We are concentrating on showing the world what their parts can and will do with our car.
JeffIsHereToo
Looking forward to learning more from you!
clark17357
looks like some need a thicker skin.... it's the internet for cryin-out-loud...... as far as cool down time....and removing it from view... I disagree with that choice. Let it stand and be seen, let your membership decide on the merits of the posts. IMHO the statements and claims made by the car owner show a lack of knowledge on his part at best, out right mis-information at worst, if this site condones/supports such posting and fails to allow (IMHO) the truth to be out there, then I guess I will no longer frequent it. my .02 Fair enough that you label your post as your two cents. In my book, that is a gesture to everyone reading the thread to relax and let you express yourself and that your post is just what it says it is, i.e., your opinion, speaking for no one else Well done in that regard. My two cents (we could get up to some serious money at this rate) is that, in my personal experience with Mac, he is a pretty knowledgeable guy and not one to post without a basis in fact. joedls
I have a couple of questions for you, Mac. Are you making 18 PSI of boost on a 3.85" pulley? Or are you making ~700 HP on 8 PSI of boost? Or is it actually something else? You wrote that you got your details confused, but you also claimed to "design/engineer" a "whole car" build. Or are you confused about that, too? Oh, and for the record, you surely haven't deceived me.
