Shelby gt vs. Fusion

Oh Boy!!!

My wife needs a new car.

So here is the issue, she either wants a new 2011 stang (v6) or a new fusion. the issue is they both cost about 28000 give or take, with the options she wants.

I found a 07 sgt black with 15,000 miles and supercharged. For 29,000. I will let her have my 2007 sgt with 4,000 miles and her drive this as her Daily Driver

I get my supercharger and she gets a Mustang alla a SGT at that

Here is the options he added:

Its a 2007 Mustang Shelby GT V8 4.6l (not a GT 500.) It came stock with a 320hp motor and now is around the 490 hp range. It has had the following items added:

Kenne Bell supercharger

Chipped and mapped

Ford racing gear 4.10 5 Speed manual

Black American Racing Shelby rims, with low profile BFGoodrich g-force tires rated at 155mph.

Aftermarket spoiler

JBA headers, and flow master pipes (full kit) I have not heard another mustang that has a sound like this one. Loud and crisp.

What do you all THINK??? What is wrong with this picture

Also who can help me with a VIN check?

John

If my wife wanted a 2011 'Stang or a new Fusion, I would definitely recommend the Mustang.

Get her what SHE wants, not what YOU want!!! Life will be better!!!

Hard to tell, I do love the 2011 model, the V6 is a sweet engine. Like the others have said you never know how that car was driven. It could be someone like me that has all sorts of mods, but I do not beat on my car at all. Or it could be someone that has 10k miles of Quarter Mile runs.

Did you look at it yet???

No not yet, wanted to get some thoughts from the "professionals" before I looked

What is the best way to see "if it has been driven hard"? how do I check the transmission?

I was looking at that same car, the spoiler is the only thing wrong with that picture, it is fugly as hell!!! and no IUP spoils it for me too, but it's still a good price in my opinion.

Transmissions are cheap, even a aluminator block is pretty cheap now....

Doesn't sound like the simplest or smartest way to get a supercharger. I agree that the used SGT has most likely been driven the way the old man intended.

Buy the 2011 V6 Mustang, make your wife happy, keep your SGT, and save up the dough for a blower. Good luck with whichever route you choose.

Any pics or links to this said car? As has been said plenty of people buy all sorts of things for their cars for show and tell (bragging rights) and they never drive their cars hard, I have a few guys in my mustang club who who only cares what they dyno says but never take their vehicles to the track. If it is a good condition car get it I say (i'm not a expert here either) Pretty cool to have matching SGT's......and if , that's if the tranny goes, go stronger!!!! I almost went the cheap the route by spraying my car but thought twice about it, I really want a procharger. If not the SGT, go for the Fusion.

As they say if it's to good to be true it's a scam !!! Go with the fuzion in black looks sharp and cheaper insurance.

Like most of the others have stated here, give her what she wants, "cuz if mamma ain't happy, no one is happy"

If 4 doors are not a requirement, that new 2011 V6 look awesome, 305hp 13.8 in qtr. mile, 6 speed, are you kidding me....all that with good gas mileage and LOW insurance rates...

I don't think it's too good to be true, It's borderline, but not a super crazy low price for the miles and what it is.

Well I think the car looks nice save for the spoiler part, I mean the price is ok, I'm sure it can be lowered on the points that it does not have original wheels and that it is not stock anymore plus they drilled into the trunk, jeez only 15,000 miles....I'd take that car for a test drive, have a reputable shop check it out and if it checks out go for it.

Well I had my son go take a look at it, he said it was "sick" fast.

Loud as hell, almost annoying

Spoiler was bolted on and sprayed painted bad.

He said he liked our stock one just fine and this one would get us in trouble

I can imagine with 4.10's....I'm Sure first gear was useless. Well, Andrew on here has some stock parts that he is selling so if you want a non drilled trunk and maybe stock headers I'm sure you could sell the JBA headers, JBA is a good one.

If it were me I would take my wife to look at this car. If she is game get this car. A Supercharged SGT vs. a Fusion, no question, have a good mechanic check it out and go for it. Two Shelby GT's in the garage?

We traded our 2006 Silver/Red GT automatic for the 2007 Shelby GT 5 speed. We both absolutely love the car, but there is no comparison with the ride, comfort and convenience of the 2006 with auto.

I would say buy the new 2011 mustang v6 auto, and get better mileage and a nice comfortable tight ride and not quite as many worries leaving it parked at the supermarket, smacking a curb with the painted spoiler, etc.

Save up for a blower for your car.

I do not ever regret trading up to the Shelby, but I do miss daily cruising in the 2006 auto...
