If you could get any Shelby?

You already have a modern one I'm assuming since you are on here, so I would suggest buying classics personally, You won't have to wait for them to appreciate in value, which would also allow you to buy and sell in and out of MANY different cars over the years without losing any money (generally). Own a different high end classic every 6 months, you could drive them without worry about adding a ton of miles in that short time, and still get your money right back... But I like variety :)

With enough money you can get anything. Start a "business" then contact Shelby, have them build you your own special vehicle (which ever style you prefer Super Snake, GT...) Then document document document. Start to finish, pictures of Shelby signing it, videos, dates, have lunch with Shelby (after giving him a "donation" for his children's fund) then pick it up at Shelby American with Shelby handing you the keys. Then write it all off as a business expense and donation. You would have a 1 of 1 and it would be priceless.

Yeah, the Ford GT is the top of my modern car list too. It's one of the few cars I'd have trouble putting miles on though, I'd want two of them, one to sit and look pretty and the other to drive every day !

Congrats on your lawsuit and for filing the claims to begin with. If a pilot can't speak up about FAA regulations being broken, I don't know who can.

I think I remember you already owning an SGT. Regardless, I'd put my dough on a new GT-350. It'll have a hell of an engine in it, plus it's scheduled to be a more limited build than the SGT was. No matter which car you choose, you ought to be awfully happy with it. Good luck Dave.

I'd go for a 67 GT500 with inboard lights. Investment quality and I'd buy an enclosed trailer. However, I'd still drive it to local shows, trailer it to others, unload it to drive around and then trailer it back home. The other car would be a 68 GT500 KR convertible and the trailer.

If overnight things in your life changed and now you could get any Shelby...which would you get?

Assuming that getting it had no effect on my other wants and needs, I guess I would get the rarest and most valuable if it were available.

Actually the 2008 Shelby GT was the lowest number produced by Shelby (2171) at least in modern cars, and from what I have been told by Shelby.

I would have to agree with you Ken, and buy a new GT 350.. Very very cool !! I would like to trade my 08SGT on one, just don't have the extra 25K it will take, at least!!

I would buy the new SC GT350 and make a deal with Mr, Shelby; a hefty donation to Shelbys childrens fund in exchange to convert my 65' GT350 Tribute and make it a real one. To me, Shelbys are the best and I would not ever sell, just them pass on.

Daytona Coupe, followed closely by an R-Model, followed closely by a 427 Cobra (sans Lemans strips, roll bar, and side pipes), becuase with those, simple elegance is the way to go, like this

My lottery list

New Age

A csx blue and whited striped cobra built hardcore with a 427 and if possible a geardriven procharger.

Old School

A original black 427SC, a 65 Rmodel, 67 Gt500 inboards in a nice metalllic blue, 66 black and gold Hertz with a paxton, and a 67 terlingua coupe.
