What RPM do you set your "Shift Tone"?

This is a handy feature for us older folks, it reminds us that it is probably a good time to shift.

I have it set for 5800

+1 on the 5,800. Old timer's reaction time built in! :hysterical:

I was assuming that since it red-lined at 6,000 the computer would shut it down about then but I noticed at the drag strip that it was going just a little over 6,500 before shut-down. I will prob re-adjust it eventually to about 6,200 or 6,300.

I found that if I am listening for it I can hear it (drag strip w/windows closed).

5k but just heard it for the first time today actually. Was with my wife and had the windows up, ac on with no radio. First time I wasn't with the top down or hitting the gas hard or ac on with windows up or stereo wasn't blasting.

Can't see that I'd use it much, glad to have the light but even more happy to have the limiter.

I found the tone annoying so I set it for 9,500 RPM. That way, when it goes off I know that the engine is toast. :hysterical:

Just kidding of course. I find the tone useless so I have it turned off. I have the light set for 4,900, and usually end up shifting around 5,100.

5100? :redcard: man you have got to let that thing breath!! :shift: I thought you would be complaining about the low rev limit on these 5.4's. :hysterical:

Sheeeet, at $3.50 a gallon for super, I only shift at higher RPM's when I'm really jamming down the road. Otherwise, I do my best to keep my foot out of it for economical reasons. It's really wonderful to see the boost guage go up, but it really sucks to simultaneously see the gas gauge go down. And don't forget that I have a TVS blower on my car too! :hysterical:

Oh yeah I hear ya, you can definitely see the gas gauge move. It would get real expensive if I used my shift light to shift every time. :spend:
