daveh70
On my '08 GT500, you can set a shift tone at a specified RPM. If you've used this, I'm wondering where you have set yours?

thewheelman
I've never used this feature. How loud is it? With my vert I doubt I could hear it over the wind roar, supercharger whine and passenger screams.......
08 ORANGE SS-725HP
I would just set the shift light. You probably won't hear the tone anyway. I have my light set at 6100.
skeet
This is a handy feature for us older folks, it reminds us that it is probably a good time to shift. I have it set for 5800
jsarkis
5900, but I rarely hear it bc the exhaust / sc etc.
relopez98
5000 rpm, but I never hear it. Contemplating setting it at 3200 for the alleged "launch control" start. Nice day today to give it a try!

iamlightning03
4000; for daily use there is just no need to wind the motor up so high.
Snake Doc
This is a handy feature for us older folks, it reminds us that it is probably a good time to shift. I have it set for 5800 +1 on the 5,800. Old timer's reaction time built in! I was assuming that since it red-lined at 6,000 the computer would shut it down about then but I noticed at the drag strip that it was going just a little over 6,500 before shut-down. I will prob re-adjust it eventually to about 6,200 or 6,300. I found that if I am listening for it I can hear it (drag strip w/windows closed). skiph
6,000 But who can hear it when I have the pedal to the floor? I'm kinda focused on other things then too
GT500 rolls
5k but just heard it for the first time today actually. Was with my wife and had the windows up, ac on with no radio. First time I wasn't with the top down or hitting the gas hard or ac on with windows up or stereo wasn't blasting. Can't see that I'd use it much, glad to have the light but even more happy to have the limiter.
Son of GT
I found the tone annoying so I set it for 9,500 RPM. That way, when it goes off I know that the engine is toast. Just kidding of course. I find the tone useless so I have it turned off. I have the light set for 4,900, and usually end up shifting around 5,100.

I thought you would be complaining about the low rev limit on these 5.4's.

Sheeeet, at $3.50 a gallon for super, I only shift at higher RPM's when I'm really jamming down the road. Otherwise, I do my best to keep my foot out of it for economical reasons. It's really wonderful to see the boost guage go up, but it really sucks to simultaneously see the gas gauge go down. And don't forget that I have a TVS blower on my car too!
