Mac attended one of our Chicago area get togethers, gonna miss those, and what I love about Lulu is he's really tried to tweak the car to the extent possible to get the biggest bang for the buck and yet keep it NA, unless that's changed.

Mac is, if nothing else, VERY methodical and really thinks things through before he jumps, and even then is open to trying something different, keeping close watch on what really makes a difference and what doesn't. I miss his sage advice but realize he's had a lot to deal with over the last year so I understand but even doing a search for his posts from the past yield some great insights that are timeless.

Wishing you all the best my friend!

Okay! I give, I give!

Okay..Y'all win...Leggo my arm, eh!

Gents...Thank you all for your kind words LuLu's new make-up wasn't just an engine build, rather a whole car makeover.

I'll try and keep it all brief. I do not have any time slips and I prolly will not be able to provide them. My focus is road racing, not 1/4 mile drags. Moreover, I do not have a dyno sheet at my fingertips, but they are on file at the shop.

This "whole car" build was completed and LuLu made 750+ RWHP/690+ RWTQ in the final days of (safe) tuning. However, because the stock SGT Tremec 3650 tranny cannot endure this level of power, LuLu was "detuned" for the street, detuned to just under 700 RWHP, and only until a durable tranny can be acquired.

LuLu's 'makeover" was designed/engineered by me, with assembly by Simpson Performance, Stillman Valley, Illinois. Please feel free to call Corey Simpson at 815.645.1199 to verify LuLu's stats. Meanwhile, on with the build details...

NEW Teksid 4.6L sidebolt bare block, .005 clean-up bore. (a Teksid block is the strongest block Ford ever produced, and I haven't seen any stronger yet)

JE pistons, 11cc dish, 9.1:1 compression

Manley con rods, Kellog crankshaft, Clevite bearings

FRP high volume oil pump, Canton winage tray

MMR 7qt oil pan and extended pick up

Balance and blueprint short block by Simpson Performance

Ported stock 4.6L-3V heads by TEA to max specs, titanium valves, keepers and keys, CompCams "beehive" blower springs

CompCams stage 2 blower cams, cam phaser delete

FelPro gaskets all around

ARP fastners everywhere, I mean e v e r y w h e r e

Afco 3 core radiator, 160 t/stat. LuLu runs at a max of 190 degrees

ProCharger 3 core air-to-air intercooler

ProCharger D1SC blower, 8 rib drive belt, 3.85 pulley, 8 pounds of boost

C&L intake manifold w/charge motion valve delete

3" ID blower plumbing, 90mm MAF, Big Mouth BOV

-10 fuel lines front to back, billet fuel rails and 60# injectors

Snow throttle activated methanol injection active @ 5 lbs of boost

Dual Ford GT supercar fuel pumps

McLeod twin disc hydraulic clutch

Lakewood Watts link, panhard bar delete, Ford Racing A-arm brace

Ford Racing 8.8 rear cover, stock 3.55:1 gears and Trac-Loc diff, Dana 60 caps and bolts

Certified 6 point roll cage by FastForward Race Engineering, Simpson 5 point belts

Innovative gauges (oil p, WB AFR, and boost) in a triple pod on the A pillar, Autometer shift light

ScanGuage OBDII monitor, Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS, X2

Shelby Bullit wheels in chrome, 18X9 in front, 18X10.5 rear

Nitto 555R, 285X40 in front, 305X35 rear

MMR custom poly engine and tranny mounts for Teksid in '07 frame

Stainless Works tuned full length catted headers (1.75 primary, 3" collectors), followed by 3" SS pipe, MagnaFlo X pipe and mufflers

Forgive me, gents, there is a lot more detail available here, including what it feels like to drive this bitch even when she's not done yet. But, I cannot wrap my memory, nor my expressions around all that stuff right now. I have other issues pending tomorrow.

Hope this helps y'all, gents, never meant to make a mystery out of it. Questions welcome.

Y'all be safe, happy motoring.

Mac.

No wonder you've not been around here much!!! :hysterical:

Honestly though, Mac, Lulu sounds incredible and I'd be happy to ride shotgun ANYTIME! Take care, my friend, hope this finds you doing well.

You know, Mac......I've had my doubts about you since the first day I signed onto this forum. You've always seemed to be slightly flakey to me. But this one solidifies my belief that you are full of $#!+.

750+ RWHP/690+ RWTQ

ProCharger D1SC blower, 8 rib drive belt, 3.85 pulley, 8 pounds of boost

That's the biggest crock of BS I've read yet on this board.

These guys may believe your BS due to their inexperience with building horsepower. Perhaps you think you found a place where you can be a horsepower hero due to their inexperience. Let me tell you one thing though......I'm not one of them. You didn't make that kind of power with a 9:1 compression 281 cubic inch engine on ONLY 8 psi of boost. Period.

Little harsh there man!

I'm thinking, after VERY little google time, that the 3.85" pulley is good for 15+ psi, so maybe it was supposed to be 18psi? I very well could be wrong though.

3.85" is the 8 psi pulley. Harsh? Not even close. I could bring forty ProCharger guys in here with over 10 years of experience and rip him to bloody shreds....but I have not.

Yet.

And let's look at a few other things here that are suspect as well.

NEW Teksid 4.6L sidebolt bare block, .005 clean-up bore. (a Teksid block is the strongest block Ford ever produced, and I haven't seen any stronger yet)

Didn't look at your existing 3V block did you? It is based off the Teksid and features revised oiling, venting windows to reduce windage, and a better alloy that resists heat soaking.

FRP high volume oil pump

No billet oil pump gears in such a high dollar build? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

60# injectors

You're going to run out of fuel if you ever seriously make your mystical "750+hp" numbers.

And nobody that has a clue about modular engines runs titanium valves in a boosted application. They're too light for adequate stability under boosted conditions.

Dumbass

The tech stuff is over my head, but this is way better than reality T.V.

Shadow, dial it back a notch. You may be right about his claims being BS but name calling isn't necessary. Your comments ot only take shots at LuLu but also every person who chimed in with a pat on the back for his build. There is enough negative energy in the world already. If LuLu's build is BS then shame on him for attempting to mislead and leave it at that.

I'm no expert but with the right combination, e.g. cams, watermeth, etc, etc, and little luck are you certain that 700+ isn't possible on 8lbs? I have always been under the impression that the more efficent your motor is at moving air and fuel the less boost that is needed.

I'll agree that going with a Teksid block seems like a step backwords but there may be other reasons for saving the stock block.

I am with Shadow on this, This guy is full of crap. His combo could make that power number with 20+psi, But there is NO way it comes near that number on 8psi. People that lie about stuff like this just give the next guy false hope.

Notice how it's the NEW guys here who are calling B.S.??? I doubt any of them have ever met Mac...I'd think twice about calling him names...especially to his face...

Sounds like they are calling you out Mac...I know you haven't been feeling well, but perhaps a showdown is needed sometime...LOL

A guy who claims 700+ HP w/ 8 pounds of boost on a 281 cubic inch engine that doesn't rev to 20,000 RPM is a liar. Stop hugging his nuts and face the facts.

We are calling bs cuz its bs. Who cares how big he is, lying about numbers like that just shows how "small" he really is! I will be in Atco for the NMRA race, I am sure there will be a dyno there, i will pay his dyno time and hand him 500.00 if he can make those numbers on 8psi. I will also grab my buddy Dave W from Procharger to witness this:)

Guys, I'm all for calling BS when it's spotted/smelled/steped-in but back off the name calling. It's just wasted energy.

I've seen Shadow around here enough to know that he has a lot of knowledge, but just because I'm not quick to discredit LuLu or anyone else doesn't mean I'm hugging anyone's balls.

And those that just joined TS to dog pile, welcome.

Seriously, welcome.
