OK, After seeing a few a cars meet there demise, What do you think it would cost you to replace your car, to the EXACT way it is right now, including labor and you cannot do anything yourself on the car, I know what mine would cost, but I will wait and see what others say, McQuirk and Dave C already know what it would cost me as I have told them, just something to think about when you get some classic car insurance and a appraiser come knocking on your door, think about everything including shelby art prints and all other things that tie into your car's CSM#

$65,000

I had it insured for $58,000 when I renewed this past January I did not look at my mod list and shot myself in the foot. But I am gonna try and make it up by selling everything I can off the totaled car and keeping my most mods for the new one.

Hagerty's was great to work with, by the way.

Take Care

I am going to have to look into Hagerty's, mine is under my regular car insurance and drive it like 4k miles max per year, it is a weekend toy. It is only insured as a Shelby GT, not any mods so I would be in a world of a loss. Mine would cost a lot to replace, I am not sure I want to know. I would guess around $60k I have in it.

I would love to fly up w/ you but seeing how I have been off 11 days, they probably would get a little upset if I took Monday too. I was hoping when I got back in town you were going up this weekend and we could of drove and trailered it back for you. Maybe we can get together not next weekend (Mothers Day) but the next weekend. Would love to see it and of course you and the wife......Got to pass on the balancer, too attached to the rusty one I have :hysterical: ...also, getting hit hard w/ finances for parents in nursing home right now....long story :banghead: ........later Craig

After talking to Rick I kind of realized that people don't keep track of how much money they spend. It's not hard to have big dollars in these cars, $60, 70, 80 dollars a pop adds up real quick. We had 60K into our car when we had it delivered to our front door. I know Rick has done a lot more to his car. Some people don't want to know how much they've spent on their car, it would probably scare them. But the reality is what happened to Andrew, can happen to anybody.

And Andrew, what's up with driving your new car with one hand??

I think it would cost me a 2011 GT350 (with some changes) or a 2011 GT500......Of course it might then cost me a marriage also. :hysterical:

On the insurance issues. I wasn't satisfied that I would be completely covered by the collector insurance with my driving habits. My State Farm agent insured the Shelby much like they do with............wait for it...............conversion vans. The car itself is insured as a Mustang GT but the Shelby GT upfitting from SAI and the modifications are insured dollar for dollar by the receipts.
