Another GRABBER ORANGE in the Pacific Northwest

I got a call from the dealer yesterday that the Shelby was ready to be delivered. The weather has been especiall miserable in the Seattle area the past month and it was raining when I got the call but decided to drive it home anyway. By the time I got to the dealer, the rain had stopped, the roads were clear and the temperature hit 50 degrees - almost as if GOD did not want the Shelby to be fouled by road grime! My sales rep is a really nice guy but forgot everything that I told him about dealer preping the car. The car was completely preped in including the installation of the front license plate holder - with the dealer frames and paper plate installed. I did get the Monrony? broadcast sheet howerever. I suspect they didn't really expect me to jump through my a$$ and come over and get the car so fast, as I live about 100 miles away, so they figured they would have some time to display it. I was initially miffed about the license bracket thing, but as I mentioned in a previous thread, I have THE license plate in the state of Washington - GT 500. The car looks much better in person than in pictures, but I still think the rear end sits too high. There is just too big of a gap between the rear tire and fender opening for me but I'll live with it. I looked the car over from bumper to bumper and the car is flawless. I've heard may a horror story about the stipes but mine are absolutely perfect! The stripes on the Shelby look almost as good as the stripes on my 2006 FORD GT but those stripes were a $5000 option and has three coats of clearcoat. The car was built on Jan 2 and delivered on Jan 18 in Seattle so if wasn't for the seven month wait for Ford to build the car....... This car is the wife's birthday present so I haven't even got to drive it yet, will post my driving impressions and some pictures later. One more thing - for those of you holding back and waiting for MSRP you are going to kick yourself in the a$$ for not ponying up the money and getting one as soon as you possibly could. My wait is over and was definitely worth it, for you folks that haven't gotten yours yet the same feeling of exiliaration will be running through your head when your day comes. TAKE ME OFF THE LIST!!!!! Ed

Thats GREAT news Ed! I am glad the weather reports for Fri. were wrong, as usual. I got the newsletter and could not believe what I read about the GT. I bet thats a blast. I am really going to miss the 9 though, that car had a mystique all of its own. Well I hope the weather gets better and they get this sand and de-icer off the road. I can't wait to hit the streets. Again, a double congrats to you!

Hi guys sorry it took so long to post sme pictures. It has been so long since I posted my last pic, I forgot how to do it. I also destroyed my BOSS 429 website in the process. Here are a couple taken at the dealership. As I mentoned earlier, I told the dealer not to prep the car but they did it anyway. Thank GOD they didn't drill holes for a dumba$$ dealer advertisement!

What a beautiful car. I LOVE IT. :happy feet:

Excellent taste. :happy feet:

Sweet :happy feet:

Grabber, you are gonna love it! here is another pic. By the way for anyone looking for a 2007 GT 500 blue with white stripes, I saw one at the dealership doing some warranty work on my FORD GT. Bowen Scarff Ford has it. Appearantly someone ordered it and had to back out of the deal. Ed

Yes, Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent Washington. I think they want 69K but tell them Ed sent you and you'll probably get a .25 cent reduction on the price. Ed

That's 25K over sticker.

Say it aint so.........

Ed, I work at the dealership where you saw the Vista Blue GT500. My office looks over the service department, so I'm assuming that beautiful red (white stripe) GT in our shop is yours? I love the color combo!

On a side note, the Vista Blue (white stripe) GT500 coupe you saw in our showroom is now sold. The customer who originally ordered it a year ago has bought a plethora of cars from us, but had a big change in finances in the last year so he could not take delivery. Yes, the car was put on the showroom floor at $25K over a couple days ago, and was sold last night at that price (it only took a couple of phone calls to find a buyer for it).

Whether anyone likes ADM's or not, the fact remains that demand is still way stronger than supply around here. An inventory search of the NW showed just 12 GT500's available for sale (coupe and vert) in the entire NW (150+ dealers). Someday, if we have extra GT500's laying around unsold, I'm certain our pricing will drop to reflect that fact. But until that time, I suspect big ADM's to continue most everywhere.

I thought the ADM's had maybe edged down a tad to the 10-15K price but I keep hearing and seeing these sales of the 20 to 25K ADM's. When I ordered my car in October everyone thought I was crazy to pay the ADM because it was said that winter was going to tank the ADM's. I guess when there is only 12 cars available at 155 dealers in the NW it keeps the prices high.

Five Oh, just got back from your dealership had some warranty work done on the GT. I drove over with my wife in her grabber orange Shelby. The GT and GT500 were parked next to each other for just few minutes but long enough to cause a scene. Tell Brian and Debbie in the service department thanks for taking care of the GT for me. I'll be back later for an oil change in the GT and of course your car show in August. Ed

Ed, sure wish I would have been there when you showed up. I was off early today. I'll pass on the thanks to Bryan and Debbie. Bryan was our SVT Technician for many years and is now the shop foreman. He had one of our earliest 2003 SVT Cobras that he campaigned in the Sportsman Class at Seattle Int'l Raceway in the 1/4 mile drags. Debbie is my personal service advisor for my Mustangs. They're nice people.

Glad to see FOK got the GO GT500 for you - sorry to hear they overprepped it and stuck a front plate bracket on it. Sure wish we could have gotten one for you. Let's see, GO Boss 429, GO Boss 302, GO GT500, and your son's GO Mustang V6. Are there any other GO Mustangs in your stable that I forgot? That 2007 Saleen Parnelli Jones Mustang would be sweet along side all of your other orange ponies!

On a side note, we'll open up online registrations for the August car show in May.
