Poisnus
Well after just purchasing our new '09 Shelby on Saturday, we have the bags packed and the car shining as we are taking a spring break road trip down to Tennessee and the Smokey Mountains with the kids. We told them to pack light. We just hit 400 miles on the clock today and the trip will net us over 1200 or so more. It is supposed to rain here tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed we can have a clear trip, with the top down :happy feet: I'm looking forward to getting to the Smokeys with the top down enjoying the wonderful scenery. There a few little winding roads as well James

Poisnus
Made it down no problem. Washed and polished the car yesterday only to run into a thunderstorm 15 minutes after we left the house that lasted long enough to dirty the car up Had the top down most of the way after that and my face is burnt, lol. The car is just a blast to drive. The power and handling is awesome. Only thing I noticed every little domestic and import car wants to rev its engine and ride next to me like I want to race. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get used to that. James

Oh well, I guess I'll have to get used to that. We took our GT 500 there last year on spring break.....beautiful sunshine and warm temps one day, snowing the next! Spent LOTS of time with the top down! Was cruising the strip in Pigeon Forge and a guy opens the sliding door of a mini van next to us in traffic and yells, "Is that the real thing?" I nodded and waved and he yelled back, "Rev 'er up for us!" Traffic was light, so, as I told my wife, I felt obligated......I dropped it into 2nd and let them hear the supercharger whine.....what a hoot to drive this car! Hope you had a great trip! I can relate to that while we were down there, every night we cruised through Gatlinburg people would yell out "do a burnout", I would just smile and nod James
Snake Doc
its closed due to rock slides.enjoy the smokies snakehandler. Those of you that make it down this way a better ride than the Tail of the Dragon is the Cherohala Skyway. It's a 50 mile ride from Robbinsville, NC over to Tellico Plains, TN. It has nice wide lanes, lots of curves and tops out just over 1 mile high. http://www.cherohala.com/ The name Cherohala is derived from the Cherokee Nat Forest in TN and the Nantahala Nat Forest in NC. It's a better ride than the Dragon, (US129) due to the "Crotch Rockets" making timed runs up and down and it's a US highway and is traveled by 18 wheelers that can't make most of the curves in their own lane. I've ridden both roads several times on a motorcycle and know they would be great vert rides, but the Cherohala would be my preference. Not only is it a better ride, but it's not well known so it's low traffic, the "Crotch Rockets" don't run it so there's not a big police presence there. (With the Dragon closed, this may change) Good Luck & Enjoy!

Poisnus
I heard about that. We headed back home on a Saturday and there were a slew of classic cars spread about in hotel parking lots, figured there had to be something going on.
