magrag
I recently received my J&M upper control arm and was looking over the instructions. Do I really have to remove the rear seat and loosen/remove the upper mounting bracket to remove the bolt???? And do I really need to replace the bolts with new ones??? The kit I ordered did not come with the body mounting bracket. Thanks for your help , I will probablly be putting this on in a couple of weeks AND I hope it eliminates that wheel hop!!! I used the Metco bracket and everything is perfect.
Seahorse
I recently bought an adjustable J&M UCA, but when I asked about a bracket was told that J&M does not recommend an aftermarket bracet be used with their UCA as theirs is designed to work without?! Thought it must be true as the vendor could have sold me the bracket from another manufacturer but said I didn't need it.
ingram4868
I do remember people complaining of a "clunk". So what was causing the clunking noise?
Slabo
I do remember people complaining of a "clunk". So what was causing the clunking noise? The size of the J&M bracket bolt is smaller than the hole in the bracket. J&M had to make special washers that take up the extra space and prevent the clunking. They are included with their UCA. magrag, here is a post I did with tips on how to install the J&M UCA. J&M LCA & UCA install tips

J&M LCA & UCA install tips J&M doesn't furnish the bolt, it's the OEM bolt. Not sure why it didn't cause the "clunking" in the OEM config. I am glad J&M did furnish the bushings; I guess they learned from experience. Your tip about using a lift for install is "Spot on". I did mine w/jacks & jack stands and while doable it was a PITA. I did not use a new bracket (UCA took care of the wheel hop), but for those that want both, Roush has a "Wheel Hop Reduction Kit" that contains the UCA & bracket. http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=
