Im waiting on an email for a higher up at Ford. Last year Ford told us our allocation right away. We knew how many we would have and how many we could sell. So far this year I havent heard ANYTHING. I do have on going to be built on the 29th of this month, but the OK to Sell is not until the 15th of next month.

I hope I can found out more soon!

I just got off the phone w/ my Ford dealer, he's telling me his Ford rep. said it could take up to 3 “maybe more” months to get my Shelby... is that the census with dealers across the country?

I hope thats not the case. When i ordered mine in Feb i was told probably 10-12 weeks ,of course that could have changed. My rep told me last week the build date was supposed to be today 3/22 and he would know more this week so i'll post when i know something.

Sure would be nice to know. I am the second order at my dealer and they have no word either on a second allocation. Dealer rep. told me she would try to get an allocation for my car from another dealer that doesnt want a car at all.

My dealer still doesnt have a VIN for the one car they do have allocation for, last year at this time they had a VIN and production date, but still waited for the car for 7weeks after it was produced.

hate to say it guys but ford might make the GT500 more of a limited Edition this year :headscratch:

not sure i like the new valve covers. (bright blue)

Well if thats the case so be it. This would have been the first Mustang and first Ford I have ever purchased. So far I must say GM does a much better job of taking care of customers with cash in hand. The good news for me is, if my car is not allocated and produced in a resonable amount of time I do have other choices from other manufacturers.

Don't fall for the limited edition talk. This is the same thing that happened last year and as you can see there's still new 2010's out there for sale. And honestly thus far there's been more 2011's made than 2010's at the same point last year. 266 this year/ 96 last year.

I have a great dealer here by my house. Went in as soon as the order banks opened and talked to them, they had already ordered their one allocation but felt confident to get a second. The sales manager called the rep. in front of me and told her he would call her weekly until my car was pulled. I have a deal paying invoice for my car. I wish they did the retail verification for the Shelby, but I am sure it would drive the price down a little. Like you said, I have lots of anxiety not knowing when or if my car will get pulled. If it doesnt get pulled by mid summer I will just go with my second choice, I'm not going to pay a ADM or MSRP for any car.

:D Far be from me to interfere - I remember what it was like... I'm just going to sit back and relax and enjoy the anxiety of those without Shelbys yet! ;)

Very cool, what did you get and what was the invoice price? When I ordered my vert it came out to $60.7K, my dealer dropped almost 2K off of that. I ordered on March 5th and his Rep quoted him that delivery in June or July. But that was not in writing. I am hoping to get it before Mustang Week in July...

Without looking at my Dora it was around 45,5xx. My car will be a base car no options.

Wow that is a nice price. Correct me if I am wrong but Invoice is the the same a sticker price.

When I ordered mine. The price straight off system they place the order mine came out to $60.7K, and I got mine for $58.2K.

MSRP is the sticker price, on my car it is around 49,xxx Invoice is about 5k off MSRP. The dealer then still has a hold back of just under 2k. So from what I understand my dealer will make just under 2k on my car, not to bad for 10 minutes work, 5 to order it and then the 5 minutes for me to hand them a check and leave.

Now if a dealer had to pay for the right to sell SVT cars this year, it cost the dealer $1,000 just for the right to get one car. My dealer past that fee along to the two cars they got last year. They still have a 2010 red with Nav. HID and cover, they will let that one go for $500 over invoice to anyone that wants it.
