FordRocks1
Ok, I just found a SCT X3 tuner for sale locally for a killer price from a person who used it on their GT500. So with that being said, I asked the seller if the tuner is unlocked and he said yes but how do I know if it is unlocked when I go and check out? Now I know once I get it I will have to pay a vendor for one of those custom tune but if the SCT is unlocked and all will I be able do anything to the car with just the SCT to perform better or the like? Thanks.
stngfever
Power up the device by plugging in to either a vehicle's OBDII port or a computer's USB port. (usb cable not included) Once powered up, scroll all the way down to device info. Press Select on Device Info. Status will either be: Status: Locked or Status: Unlocked. Yes you will need a tune. I have a Brenspeed tune and love it! $75 for a single tune.

Thanks, I contacted SCT and said I will need to get a USB cable and a custom tune for my SGT for most tuners comes with a specific tune for a specific car with its mods and this comming from a GT500 I will need a custom tune from one of the vendors.
