FiaCobra
I have a feeling not many KR owners upgraded. If they did, i'm willing to bet they went with a TVS blower.
09KR0058
That's not something I'm even thinking about. I love everything about this car and wouldn't change a thing.

JADEDaddy73
I love my KR as well but I did the TVS blower with a 2.8 pulley and now love it WAAAAYYYY more! I agree that the KR is great but remember there were compromises made between Shelby and SVT, so "fixing" a few things isn't a bad thing. Just save your original parts and all is well....BUUUTTT I do understand leaving the car completely untouched, I just couldn't do it!
REAL ONE
I 'm likely just going to leave it stock and just let it be a KR. I really love the car just the way it came from Shelby. It is one of my favorite cars to drive. The power and handling are beautifully balanced. The TVS is tempting at times though.. I must admit. belltr
I want to upgrade very much !!!!!! I want to go faster!!! was thinking about the 605 TVS, have the dealer install it and add it to my VIN and my Warr...
Stalwart
I'm going to upgrade, not yet though, one of my other hobbies is eating up most of my spare cash. I know it won't be a TVS, the 2.8LC, 2.9 and the 3.6LC are all contenders. I'm tired of SS owners giving my car no respect at all. They act like the KR is some bastard child. BTW, have you seen the fit and finish on the SS carbon fiber parts? They looked like cheap junk to me . . .
oldlugs
...I'm tired of SS owners giving my car no respect at all. They act like the KR is some bastard child... They probably haven't a clue as to what a KR is. Likely they think it's a tarted-up Mustang GT with a body kit. Have you had problems with the Camaro SS guys beating you...? The few I've seen while driving my KR, seem to stay back a car length and stare; probably just wondering. :shades: Haven't had one line up at a light, yet... vapor08GT500
I put a TVS on my Blue KR I sold, and have put Kenne Bell's on two customer's KR's...just keep all your stock parts and you will be fine... Alex

m81mclaren
If any of you KR guys wants a stock Eaton to send off for a "stock look" pulley and/or port job, let me know. I'll sell it $450 shipped anywhere in the cont US. This would be a nice compromise to going full bore TVS for little $ and make swapping back to completely stock very easy since you would retain your original. durward1
I just had my 08KR returned from ShelbyAmerican in LV with the advertised upfit package (with 605 SC) plus a one-piece drive shaft, cooling system, Watts link, interior package, and rear brakes. I'm thrilled with it. Even the previously phenomenal engine tone seems more.

As stated, Super Snake owners know what a KR is. If they would have sent them to Canada in 08 I would have one, but since they didn't I decided to Snake a GT500 instead! If I get more garage space one day, I will get a King of the Road too! That would be a perfect world..... no I would also need a 68 KR (my personal favorite), oh ya.... and a BOSS429! Where does a mustang guy stop!! Man I need a much bigger garage and pay check! Cheers Brett

How close are the calipers to the rim? 1/4"? What interior color? SAI offers a "Watts Link" for the KR upfit package? - What brand? Fays2? Steeda? Only reason why I didn't buy a KR ... NOT offered as a vert. Check out what Alex(vapor08GT500) is doing to my SS. http://www.teamshelb...-vert-upgrades/

oldlugs
why on earth did they install a 2 pc driveshaft, that makes no sense at all. I believe it may have had to do with crash testing and safety issues. I can see the two-piece folding up in a rear end collision, and a one-piece getting shoved into the passenger area. Another possibility may have been with drive-line harmonics, and the two-piece lessened NVH. Either way, it cost Ford more to do a two-piece, than a one-piece would have been, so you know they must have had a legit reason.

belltr
Beautiful car!!!! wat the interiour upgrade part of the uplift, Seats, door inserts, steering wheel, console cover.. If you don't mind me asking what is the price now is it still 16K and was all you had done standard or did you have a few extras... Man I want the interiour upgrade and the guages... The difference to the interiour is just amazing... Congratulations.. she looks awsome..
durward1
Thanks for the comments belltr The extras on top of the 16 K upfit package include rear 6-piston calipers, blue leather interior, single piece axle, Watts linkage, cold air intake, Kicker sound system (definitely better than the terrific Shaker 1000). These extras cost about $9000 The stock KR is a marvelous machine, but I believe these modifications finesse this car and are well worth the investment. Externally the car is identical to stock. But the the engine tone is somehow even meaner. That's what stands out most to me

That's what stands out most to me I thought the KR already had a single piece axle or did you mean drive shaft, what is a Watts linkage and what was done to make the KR sound better was that the SVT 605 upgrade. Sorry for all the questions but I am looking at doing the uplift in the fall and want to make sure I look at some good extras. Thanks Tim
