allproinstaller
Hi all, happy to join your club! Test drove and bought 2010 GT500 new last week. Will pick it up in a few weeks. When I test drove it, only had 15kms on it, and found that it did not make much power. Could not make any boost on the gauge, though I didn't push it too hard, only up to 5000 RPM. Salesman said this is typical for first while...?????? Is this typical, are they chipped for a breakin period, or do they do something on the PDI? When I drove Z06's the power scared the crap out of me, kind of hoping for similar experience. What do you think? Dave

Had to drive them over 5 consecutive miles without cycling the ignition. I would not recomend taching close to the limiter during the first 500 or so miles but do hammer the throttle through the gears............ Hope this helps................ They have the boost tuned out so the folks at the plant and carriers don't melt the tire off them.

tony356
welcome and enjoy your new car. we finally have some nice weather here so i drove to the shore and back on saturday. the car is just sick fast. the boost is all about the rate of change on throttle position - a slow methodical depress of the throttle vs a radpid application of throttle yield completely difference responses. just be careful in the beginning and learn the car. COBRA SCOTTY
Welcome to team shelby , and regarding your boost question. It takes 50 starts or key being cycled on and off or 5 miles of continued driving without turning the car off. Scotty
