J-Train
well, in the mother of all bonehead moves, I curbed my front right wheel today, not bad enough to damage the aluminum but it chipped the paint pretty good. I am pretty pissed to say the least, the worst thing is I have a set of TF wheels on order so these were to go in the attic in perfect shape for a long time down the road. I got to looking at the color and running throguh my Ford memory data base and I remembered a color not long ago that looked like it was a pretty close match to the wheels, so off to Advance auto I went and picked up a tube of Duplicolor DARK SHADOW GREY ford touch up paint. The color is a almost perfect match, you can not see the touched up area unless you get down and look for it. I am gonna go back with some 2000 grit and wet sand the repainted area tommorow and hopefully my damage control will be OK until my new wheels get here anyway. Did you have a chance to sand and repaint yet? The guy at Mr. Tire today chipped the paint on one of my wheels installing new tires. I'm thinking about doing the same thing you did. Could you take a pic of your wheel? I'm interested to see how it looks before I take the plunge. Thanks!

bpmurr
I wish I had taken a before picture, to give you a idea of how big a area I damaged (quite big and quite embarased, I have always been so careful about that) I still have a little more wetsanding I want to do on it to try and get the finish perfectly smooth, but the biggest hurtle I have had to overcome, is the area I had to repair is large enough that the metalic nature of the paint leaves some dark streaks, but seriously if you are looking for the damage with the naked eye, it takes a minute to pick out where the damage is at. I will get some daylight pics tommorow. With flash I am sure the pic will look alot worse than it is. remember though, i used duplicolor touch up paint, other brands or OE Dark shadow grey may be closer or further off. I just got lucky taking a shot in the dark, I was desperate. I look forward to seeing the pics.
WydOpen
My buddy got some curb rash on his 'vert wheels. Is your car a convertible or coupe? I believe the convertible wheels are lighter in color, correct?

White/Silver2010
Guys, just call your dealer and ask who they have come out and fix their wheels. You can get it professionally fixed for about $100 and you would never be able to find the damage. One of my wheels had a scratch on it when the car arrived and I told them I wanted a new wheel, they wanted to fix it, so we agreed that if I could find the damage after it was fixed they would get me a new wheel. Well I couldn't find the scratch and the wheel looks perfect.

White/Silver2010
LOL, I seriously doubt the could have done shit with my wheel, it was pretty much toast, besides completely striping the wheel, sanding out the gashes and refinishing the whole wheel, I was sick to my stomach to say the least. Nothing a set of TF's can not cure though. Sucks cause I was on the fence on selling these, they go for quite alot of money, last set on ebay went for over 2700$. Now I would obviously get significantly less. They only have about 400 miles onthem too. Booo Hey, I am just trying to help out. It doesn't look like your wheel was as bad as some of these so I am pretty sure they could have easily fixed it. http://columbus.awrswheelrepair.com/gallery.html

The damage was right down to the primer and beyond. I studied the repair for hours with a flashlight and can't see where it was fixed. Best thing only $120.00. Last one is the repair. bpmurr
I got my wheels fixed yesterday. From what I can tell the place did a pretty good job. Two of the four needed to be painted. I can see where they did the paint. Not that the color doesn't match but it isn't as shiny. A friend of mine in the auto repair biz said these wheel repair places can't spray real clear on the wheel. It's watered down at best to fit EPA regulations.
