philip 87
Hey guys. This is the place to get the answers. I notice 2 oil leaks under the GT-H. One in front and one in rear. I am talking about tiny spots here. Almost like oil sweat if there is such a thing. Dipstick shows FULL. I can't see very good under there without a lift.....Too much snow here to get it on a lift. Has anyone else here notice this as well? Thanks.......Philip
2007_Shelby_GT
Let's see, oil filter is toward the front, drain plug is towards the back. That's the first two places I would look. Oil leaks can be hard to track down as there are a myriad number of places it can seep from, then it has a tendency to move and drip some distance from the origin! Try looking and feeling around from the top end. If it's dry up top, could be down around the oil pan. Depending on your mileage, I doubt if it's anything serious, but still annoying! Good luck! kahmann
Oil drips aren't common at the low of mileage. Like Sam suggested, check the filter and pan plug asap.

WOW!!!!!!!! get out and drive that thing! That's beautiful!!!! I nearly pissed my pants on that one! I'll tell you, it really bothers me to see these drops on the floor. I can't see very good but maybe looks wet near the pan? Don't know if the oil is following from something else like the other members(great help by the way) here suggested? And yes, I should drive it more. I take it out here and there in the summer months locally to shows and once on the track last September at the Monticello Speedway...........The time of my life really. Thanks.......Philip

Hertz, at many locations, used what we called "maintenance techs", which translates to minimum wage workers, to do oil changes on the rental fleet. It is not uncommon to see stripped drain plugs / pans. My GTH had this issue and usually it's the plug, not the pan that will be damaged. Check the plug and pan carefully and make sure it tightens and seats properly. Please post what you find out (when the snow melts) as this will be useful to other Team Shelby members. Hope this is helpful, regards, Larry Miller

During that process, I discovered that oil draining from the filter attachment point will liberally coat different parts of the undercarriage. So it's possible your getting some spottage from past oil changes. The oil dipstick - make sure it's seated properly, and also check the dipstick tube. (I think it's press-fit into the block and could have worked loose) The oil cap - similar to the oil filter routine above - it's possible that someone "missed" while pouring in a quart and it's working it's way down the block and onto the floor. If it's wet on the pan, it's a remote possibility it could be some loose pan bolts. Try looking/feeling above the pan (from below). I've got over 24k on my SGT - fingers crossed, no leaks yet! philip 87
Guy's. I thank you very much. I can't wait to get under this car and see what the hell is going on. Everything you guy's mention is sensible and I hope that it is a simple and obvious fix. Will keep you posted PS: I am working on a custom embroidered headrest design for the GT-H. Very retro. I am fine tuning the design and I look forward to having it done and show you guy's. Thanks again .......Philip
