Yeap, me too

I will save you guys all the painstaking details, suffice to say, mine is here! White Vert with blue side stripe!

Order was placed in Oct and while I realize I didn't have to wait as long as many of you have or had to, mine came in this morning.

I got word yesterday it was in Atlanta and should be headed my way, but the dealer rep downplayed exactly how long it would take to be delivered, so I just hunkered down to wait out the final days (and it was really tough to know it was just 2 hours away).

This morning around 9:30 I got THE CALL (I was reading a guy's post about his Shelby's first driving experience when it came in). I ran through the house trying to get someone to take me to get it. My 17 year old daughter jumped at the request (she owns a 2006 Mustang and is wanting me to do some mods on it, which is why she was soooo helpful).

I drove her car so when I got in mine I could tell the difference

Pulled into the dealer and found a bunch of salespeople huddled around it. It was their first Shelby and was the highlight of their day (too bad it wasn't at the dealership for more than 3 hours total).

My guy asked me if I wanted to drive it right off. I said no way, let's get the paperwork done so I could hit the road. I was out of there in 20 minutes start to finish.

Bottomline: It is raw power! It is all I had read about of the 3 months I waited. I have read every review, most every post and yes, it was what I expected (actually a little more). Let me just say, I won't let my 15 year old son drive it when he turns 16 (even IF the new has worn off by then, which I doubt) because it is just too powerful. It is great. Extremely fast!

What I like the most is coming out of curves!! It is a blast! Sure I can get out on the open road and open it up, but that is just asking for more tickets, but coming out of curves allows me to disguise my joy ride and get away with it as long as I can hold it in the road...kind of like strapping a solid rocket booster on the back of a car, seriously. You have to concentrate on what you are doing when you are pushing it.

It has been 20 years since I owned a stick, (and it will take a bit to get used to it) but it makes the experience so much more fun. I bought the car, like most of you, for the FUN of it- parking my Escalade Truck- and making the Shelby my everyday ride. And, oh yeah, it was almost 60 degrees here in NE Alabama today, so I have had the top down all day :happy feet:

Did you get the Shaker 500 or 1000? Shelby looks great in white. :banvictory: :happy feet: :beerchug:

I had ordered it originally with the 1000 but suspected (though never confirmed) that the "material hold" issues posted here were due to the 1000, so I downgraded to the 500. Now looking at putting in the Pioneer AVIC-D3

Nice Vert. :banana piano: It says DVD playback. You will be going so fast you won't be able to use it! :speedie: Or is that for the other half? Keeps her eyes off the road! :tease:
